This pink DOC portable mp3 speaker dock reminds me of another pink sphere speaker- the mStation, naturally!

As much as I love my mStation, and all the attention I receive from having it on my desk, the DOC is something I could use when I'm on the go since it's tiny enough to stash in my oversized laptop bag.

This battery-operated speaker is compatible with 2nd-generation iPod nanos and is easily transportable with its included protective storage case. Colors include black, white, metallic green or pink to match the new iPod nanos. Only $39 at Brookstone. I wonder if mom would like it...

This pink iSound audio portable speaker could be a mini me twin to the iHome 19 portable iPod speaker. This battery-powered cute speaker/case combo lets you play music or watch movies right from the front see through window. And you don't need to have an iPod to use it as it is compatible with any audio devices that has a standard headphone output. If you aren't on the go, you can also plug it in with the 12V AC power adapter. I'd say for $30 this multi-functional case is quite the deal. Would you consider using one of these speakers? The new iHome19 iPod speakers is too cute! This water resistant sport case is the perfect accessory for all your gadget gear. You can either listen to music from headphones or speakers and you can charge your iPod with the included adapter. With summer on its way I would say the iHome is the perfect beach boombox! Stuffed Animal iPod Dock: Love It or Leave It?

Holy adorableness! These stuffed animal iPod docks, or Printed Rockin' Plushes, have to be the most precious iPod speakers on the market.

The black and white polka-dot kangaroo or pink patterned bear are both on sale for $35-$39 from PB Kids, and inside their little pouches are iPod jacks and amps. The tunes come out of two speakers and they just need two AA batteries, and perhaps frequent hugs.

Do you need a child to enjoy these soft iPod speakers? Maybe, to make it socially acceptable. What do you think?

More Details About Apple's New Nanos!

If the name of Steve Job's latest presentation - Let's Rock - led you to believe that he would be unveiling new iPods, you would be right! But not only were we the first to see the new Nano design at the Yerba Buena Center For the Arts today in San Francisco, but we also got a sneak peek at some new yet-to-be-released games to hit the App Store, the details on the newest upgrades to iPod Touch, and the scoop on what the cool new features will be for iTunes 8.

The big news of the morning obviously was the new Nanos! This generation will be smaller, packed with more features, and more cost effective. Oh, did I mention the colors? The new Nano will make your plain old black and white versions green with envy. Not to mention purple, pink, red, blue, yellow, orange, and grey.

Also being included in the newest iTunes release, the Genius Playlist creator will analyze the current track you are playing and toss together a cool playlist based on the features of that song, giving you a mix of similar songs to listen to without having to hunt and peck through your music. Other goodies include an accelerometer, a built-in voice recorder, and a "Shake to Shuffle" feature. Yes, you really can shake it!

Thankfully, Steve wants us to save a little dough while enjoying our tunes! The new Nano will come in two versions: 8GB for $149 and 16GB for $199. Plus, they are available this week for you to pick up. My wallet already feels a little lighter. What else did Steve announce today? Here's a rundown:

iPod Touch will be smaller, sleeker, and louder with an on-board speaker. Plus, the Nike + iPod transmitter will be built right into the Touch - no more lame transmitter sticking out the bottom! The iPod Touch will come in three models: 8GB for $229, 16GB for $299, and $32GB for $399.
New games hitting the App Store include Spore Origins, Need for Speed: Undercover, and Real Soccer 09.
The iPod Classic will get a hefty storage bump, going from 80GB to 120GB with a $249 price tag.
iTunes will now offer HD TV shows, including those from NBC for $2.99
The update for your iPhone to 2.1 will fix bugs and dropped calls and will back up iTunes faster.

Last week I asked for your help finding the ideal outdoor speakers and the list of options readers found was fantastic. The criteria was any portable speaker that could connect to an MP3 player and is small enough to use while traveling, BBQing, or just sitting away from your main speakers. Great sound, nice packaging and a moderate price were also on the list.

Fun and Functional Techie Finds For Kids

As much as I go ga ga for techie products targeted for adults, there are certainly some accessories for kids that make me drool just as much. It's a given that kids today are going to be exposed to all sorts of technology, so it's only fitting that they be included in all the gadget frenzy fun. Here are some of my favorite child friendly tech toys.
