After hearing Oprah say that she refuses to have a television in the bedroom, I guiltily placed my flatscreen at the end of my bed during my last apartment move. I know, bad feng shui, energy, whatever you want to call it, but how great is it when a good Netflix movie arrives and you get to crawl into your cozy bed and watch it — chip crumbs and all?! This product may be my next best option — or a good Oprah option — the Eight Hours of Fame Pillowcase.

Hooray for more retro-themed goodies! I'm digging the Check Your Head Pillow Cases ($25), featuring a cute screen print of a vintage turntable on one side and a set of headphones on the other.
They're similar to the mixed tape pillowcase I found earlier this year, so now I'm excited to have another geeky set in rotation.

Say you're not as depraved as I am — using pillowcases as laptop sleeves and whatnot. Say you like to use dedicated bags to keep your gadgets organized and orderly (more power to ya!) — then check out Kangaroom's totally practical (and as a bonus, adorable) Velvet Media Bags.
It's just $20 for a set of four, and each cute drawstring bag has the gadget it's intended for embroidered on the front — there's an MP3 player, a cell phone, a camera, and a larger one for cords (great for travel since my box technique won't work on the road).

I'm all for emergency measures to keep your gadgets protected, like using a pillowcase as a sub for a laptop sleeve.
This tip for smaller gadgets came to me while I was rummaging through my junk drawer — you can use a soft sunglasses case, the kind that's made out of that thick, soft spongy material (not unlike a mouse pad) and slide your iPhone, iPod, (or if it's slim enough, camera) inside. And it's much better than a sock!
