Photosynth Is Now Open For Public Use

For all of you Windows XP or Vista users, Photosynth is a neat new application from Microsoft that lets you transform digital pics into 3D, 360-degree experience. Just released out of beta, Photosynth allows you to easily upload your pics and then it will work its 3D magic, creating an entirely new visual medium. But keep in mind that all synths are public right now, so don't upload any pics that you don't want the world to see. It's definitely worth checking out if you are a PC user!

If you are reading this right now you are no stranger to digital communities - be it Myspace, Facebook, TeamSugar or Flickr. Blaise Aguera y Arcas is an architect at Microsoft Live Labs, and the co-creator of Photosynth, a piece of software capable of assembling photos into a collection of zoomable, navigatable spaces. The idea got a standing ovation at a recent conference. Watch and you'll see why.
