You Can Now Watch TV Shows on YouTube

Hulu isn't gonna know what hit them now that YouTube has launched a new television show section on its website, which includes categories like family, sports, comedy, romance, and even movies! What's great is that there's already a wide selection of shows, including classics like Alf, MacGyver, and 90210 - I know, ALF! Word has it that YouTube has signed agreements to distribute content from Sony, Lions Gate, CBS, MGM, and more, so hopefully the selection of shows keeps growing.

The Hills Is Making Its Way to Sling.com

I'm a big advocate of the video site Hulu, which streams movies and TV shows for free (they are commercial-supported). But there's still a huge list of shows, like The Hills, that aren't available on Hulu. The website Sling - brought to you by the masterminds of the SlingPlayer - is adding Viacom Shows (like The Hills) to its full streaming lineup. Viacom shows that were exclusively on Hulu like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report will also be available on Sling too. I know I know, The Hills is available online via MTV, but the Sling video player is so much prettier.

Website of the Day: Ustream.TV

Gearing up for Tuesday's big inauguration day? If you've got all of the festivities scheduled to tape on your DVR while you're at work, but you don't want to miss any of the action as it happens, a site called Ustream.TV will broadcast everything live and for free! And not only that, but if you have an iPhone, Ustream has created an iPhone viewing application so you can watch the inauguration live - directly from your cell phone. Oh, and for Hulu fans, don't worry, you can catch all the action on Hulu as well!

Website of the Day: CastTV

If you can't find the video you're looking for on Hulu, give CastTV a whirl. CastTV is a new video aggregator, but has high hopes to become the top video source on the web by indexing every video that hits the Internet - from YouTube to iTunes - and be your one-stop shop for TV show and specialty program viewing.

I found episodes of Supernanny (a guilty pleasure of mine), plus insider clips from some of my favorite shows like Dexter, Mad Men, and Saturday Night Live. Plus, you can see news clips from hundreds of different stations to keep you up on current events. And really, what's better than watching your favorite shows from anywhere in the world on your laptop? Exactly.

YouTube Gets Full Episodes of Geeky Classics!

This has got to be the best news I've heard all week! YouTube is now streaming 15 50-minute episodes of geeky classic TV shows like Star Trek, MacGyver and, wait for it - Beverly Hills 90210! Once you click on a show, you can decide whether you want to watch it in Theater View with the surrounding LED light on or off. It's pretty cool, and hopefully just the beginning of what's yet to come!

Yahoo Gearing Up to Stream CBS TV Shows

If you're already a fan of CBS shows like How I Met Your Mother, CSI, or Late Night With David Letterman, you'll be happy to know that Yahoo has just reached a deal with CBS to stream shows online. . . for free!

No word on when Yahoo TV will start adding shows to its online lineup, but I'm sure it will be in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, I suggest heading over to Hulu for a huge selection of shows that you can watch in their entirety, and yes - for free!

Zune Adds New TV Titles to Its Video Store

The recently opened Zune Marketplace store is set to add more than 400 new episodes of popular television shows to its online line-up - with 19 popular titles coming this week. Shows like The Colbert Report, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Lipstick Jungle (woot!), are all set to make their Zune Marketplace debut.

Each show is said to be 160 Microsoft Points per episode (approximately $1.99).

CBS Pools Online Videos With Its Audience Network

Being able to watch TV shows and movies online for free is a magnificent thing. One problem though. . . . It's getting harder to remember which sites have what! Well CBS has just created a partnership with over 300 sites like Joost, Veoh, YouTube, MSN, and Bebo to bring you Audience Network, a site that brings the best of the best in video content across the web. Content is constantly being added, so keep checking back for the latest additions!

Listen up all you Trekkies, if you want to check out Shatner and the rest of the starship Enterprise crew in all their geeky glory, head over to the CBS website where you'll find full-length episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series seasons one, two, and three.

Neatorama has also pointed out that there are 30-second ads before each episode, but a small price to pay considering you get your Star Trek fix for free! One last surprise. CBS is also offering season one of MacGyver, season one and two of The Twilight Zone, season one of Hawaii Five-0 and season one of, wait for it. . . Melrose Place!!

Download of the Day: UnPlug

Our friends at lifehacker dug up this download that's awesome for when you see a video on YouTube or MySpace that you want to keep on your computer and have access to when you're offline.

UnPlug, a Firefox add-on, puts an adorable fish icon in your toolbar, and when you're on a page with an embedded video you want to keep, just click the fish and a download page will come up. The files save in flash, so if the files don't play initially, you can download the media player VLC to watch them. Now you are free to obsessively watch hilarious gigglesugar videos.

Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
Choose "Blog"
Give your photo a Title
Leave the category as "general"
Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Download of the Day")
Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the download, do it before the code that has appeared.
Click Submit
