After finding these six camera cases, which would be ideal for any point-and-shoot camera owner, I thought that's it, I'm never going to need to look for another case again!

Umm, well that was until I was perusing on the Neiman Marcus website and stumbled upon these colorful leather camera cases. Currently on sale for $80 from $100 (I know that's a lot but keep reading), their interior is fully lined and even comes with pockets for your cords, SD cards, batteries and more - I'm sure you could squeeze some cash and a small cell phone in there too.

Not bright enough for Summer? There's always the patent leather camera cases, which are currently on sale for $60.

I thought everyone was up on what to avoid on the Internet in order to not get scammed, but after an intelligent friend told me she'd fallen for a Nigerian email scam, I didn't balk when I received an email from Neiman Marcus, with the message below.

As a geek, I know not to ever send sensitive personal information requested in an email, but I appreciate that Neiman's is doing this, that is, specifically seeking out their online customers to reassure them that their info is safe and that they will never request this info in an email.

I will continue to be savvy, but I admit that this does make me feel better about online shopping, in the sense that the stores are aware of scams that could involve them. What about you?

Starting this Friday, August 15 to Saturday, August 23, Neiman Marcus is kicking off its Fall 2008 trend event by showcasing trendy berry-colored fashions - which we all know are so hot right now. And to ring in the berry-goodness, Neiman Marcus will be giving customers who spend $250 or more a gel cell phone case as a free gift with purchase! By the sounds of it, they'll have gel cases that fit a variety of cell phone models, including BlackBerrys and iPhones.

I know exactly what you're thinking. Man, $250 for a free phone case? Pulleease. But if you were planning on doing some shopping already, and you happen to spend $250 Neiman Marcus just make sure you get your fabulous gift - your cell phone will thank you!

Floral Charging Station: Love It or Leave It?

I had no idea Laura Ashley was making charging stations. Just kidding. But this Floral Charging Station ($165) at Neiman Marcus reminds me of the '90s designer who loved - I mean, really loved - her florals.

This flowery place to store your gadgets could fit right into a shabby chic interior, but even there, it could be too saccharine. Love it? Make sure any testosterone in your living space is aware of what's about to house his very manly gadgets.

Would you buy this?

Wooden CPU Stand/Keyboard Holder: Love It or Leave It?

Neiman Marcus suggests that you use this intricately carved Wooden CPU Stand and Keyboard Holder to camouflage your CPU, but my first instinct is that intricately carved anything does not quite camouflage.

It's a decor statement, to be sure, and not cheap: $200 for each piece. That being said, if it lines up with your decor philosophy - that is, whether you like your home tech hidden or if you're a big fan of rustic wooden accessories - maybe you're drooling over these covers.

Me, I don't mind my tower out in the open, but I don't hate the idea. What do you think?

Leather Charging Station: Love It or Leave It?

Remember Stella from Project Runway who loved to work with and talk about "leatha"? She'd love this.

Neiman Marcus has this Leather Charging Station that would make any PETA advocate furious. I can admire a leather accessory, but this is a little much - the texture alone is a little too, uh, authentic.

But I could be missing the point - is this, at $175, the ultimate in luxury geek? At least you're tidy and organized.

And Stella, girl, where are you? Are you into this leatha charging hub?

The Lego-ization is courtesy of Neiman Marcus, who is apparently completely unaware of the ongoing economic crisis.

Just send them your measurements, snap, snap, snap, and there you have it, the most expensive exploitation of a cherished kids' toy.

Another reason not to do it? I'm a lifelong Lego lover, but man, those brick people are just dead creepy.

Oh happy, happy day - well, happy, happy Friday, that is! My mood matches the bright and cheery patent leather camera cases that Neiman Marcus is dishing out for $75 a pop.

I know some people aren't fans of patent leather, but me? I'm a fan. Add to that the vivid, cheery colors of these cases - such that pulling them out of your bag would cause whiplash from your girlfriends - and I'm a goner.
