Space Invaders Mobile: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

The Space Invaders mobile, created by Chicago artist pixelparty turns the usually innocent mobile into a retro geek (and slightly creepy) art piece. It's made from wool felt, dowels and cord and features nine individual “invaders” as well as one “laser base." It costs $70 at Etsy. Is this the perfect gift for a gamer's baby, or too geeky to put in a child's room?
T-Mobile Announces Some Pretty Impressive New Plans

For the 16 percent of you who are on the T-Mobile phone network, have I got some exciting news for you! And this news is equally amazing for those who have a contract ending soon with another carrier, or those who are still seeking the perfect cell phone plan. T-Mobile has just announced some new phone plans called the Even More and Even More Plus plans.

With the two-year commitment Even More plan, customers get a subsidized phone, and you can add unlimited services which start at $59 a month, and $99 for unlimited message and text. And with the Even More Plus plan, you don't get a discounted handset, but you aren't locked into a contract (yes you read that correctly), you can get unlimited voice for $49 a month, or $7 a month for everything (texting, data and voice). Oh, and if you aren't a big web browsing phone junkie, you can get unlimited texting and talking on either plan for $49 a month.

Are You Stoked About the Launch of Windows Mobile 6.5?

There's a new batch of phones on the block, and they're out to steal away some market share from Apple. Launching on October 6, select phones on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint networks will begin running Windows Mobile 6.5 under the "Windows Phone" brand. Windows has seemingly taken a back seat in the cell phone department, with Blackberry, Apple, and Android obviously being the front runners to innovation and integration. I remember using Windows Mobile OS on my old T-Mobile MDA, and I have to be honest - it wasn't one of my favorite mobile experiences to date.

But now, Windows hopes to make a comeback in the mobile market with its newest operating system and Windows Marketplace, where you can browse and purchase apps for your phone. It's yet to be announced which devices will be available to run WM 6.5, but I'm curious to know - are you stoked about the launch this Fall?

T-Mobile Sidekick Owners May Not Get Their Data Back

Over the weekend, T-Mobile experienced a server failure from its data server provider Danger, which is a subsidiary of Microsoft (umm, I'm already suspicious of a company that has a server named Danger!). Servers go down all the time, but T-Mobile has announced that it is unable to recover personal data stored on Sidekicks.

T-Mobile is urging Sidekick customers to keep their devices turned on, keep it connected to a power source, and to not reset it or remove the battery. Unlike BlackBerry owners that can backup their data using RIM's desktop manager or with iTunes for the iPhone, Microsoft didn't have a backup program or export tool for the Sidekick, which means many Sidekick owners are furious with T-Mobile right now.

Did you lose your Sidekick data from this major outage catastrophe?

Gorillapod Mobile Turns Your Cell Into a Steady Cam

I've already told you the amazing benefits to owning a Gorillapod - the tripod that attaches to most anything with its bendable, flexible legs and small to large sizes for your point-and-shoot or SLRs - and now the Gorillapod Mobile turns your mobile device into a take-anywhere-shoot-anywhere camera.

You could say I'm turning into an iPhone paparazzi with how many photos I've taken with the on-board camera, so toting this tiny and portable tripod would make including myself into the snapshot even easier. Just like the original Gorillapod, the legs can contort around almost any object, turning a mundane stop sign into the ultimate steady hand for your pics. And since the Gorillapod Mobile uses a suction cup to hold your mobile to the pod, it won't leave any sticky messes behind.

T-Mobile's G1 Android Phone Is Here!

Google, HTC, and T-Mobile announced the world's first Android-powered device this morning in NYC - the T-Mobile G1! One of the most talked about handsets of the year, the G1 can now be preordered by T-Mobile customers from the T-Mobile G1 website and starting Oct. 22, the device will be available at select T-Mobile retail stores for $179 with a two-year voice and data plan. By November the G1 will be making its way to the United Kingdom, and the rest of Europe by the start of 2009. Here's a rundown of the specs:

The G1 looks similar to the iPhone, but the touchscreen can swivel out to show off the full QWERTY keyboard.

WiFi, 3D graphics acceleration, a 3-megapixel camera.

3G with dual-band UMTS.

Full HTML browser and email support (Gmail as push and POP3 and IMAP email services).

GPS functionality.

Access to the Android market for new apps and Amazon MP3 for music purchases.

You can read Word, Excel, and other Office documents, but it doesn't offer Microsoft Exchange support.

The G1 comes with a trackball for one-handed navigation.

You can access Google Maps (including Street View), and use YouTube.

Just like that. In less than one week, T-Mobile's G1 android handset sold like hot cakes and are now out of stock. Although T-Mobile is reassuring its customers that there are "some available" for T-Mobile subscribers. - Gizmodo

Apple is working towards making iTunes 8 and the new iPod Nano fully user friendly for blind individuals. - Apple Insider

Check out five of the best websites for streaming television online. - Lifehacker

Thinking about purchasing the Sonos wireless music system? Unpluggd just picked up the Sonos Bundle 150 with loudspeakers and here's a full rundown of all its gadgets and gizmos. - Unplggd

On Dec. 9, Warner will be releasing the DVD version of The Dark Knight in Blu-ray and it will cost $36. - CrunchGear

Adrianna's Chic Cell Phone on 90210

Each week, I'm so wrapped up in The City, The Hills and Gossip Girl for my tech quizzes that I sometimes miss out on the Melrose Place and 90210 gadget action! Reader beautiful daisy asked me a question about this week's 90210 episode:

I was wondering, would you happen to know what kind of cell phone Adrianna was using on the last episode of 90210? It aired this past Tuesday. It was white and really thin. Very pretty and I was wondering if you would know? Thanks!

Adrianna was actually spotted with a T-Mobile G1 this week! (Thanks for the little insider info from my friends over at the CW!). This touchscreen Google Android platform phone gives you access to high-speed 3G networks and it comes with a 3-megapixel camera and WiFi functionality!
