Michael Phelps Swimming Game: Awesome or Lame?

Michael Phelps is everywhere but at the pool these days! Among other many recent endorsements, Olympic phenomenon Michael Phelps will be teaming up with 505 Games to develop a video game based on his swimming career.

The game is still in its development stages so I don't want to be too quick to judge, but if you happen to have played Beijing 2008, then you may recall that the swimming meets were kinda . . . boring. You know I love Michael as much as the next geeky gal, but will his game rise above its paddling predecessors and be awesome, or sink to the bottom and be totally lame? Only time will tell. What's your first reaction?

Remember back in May, when David Archuleta and David Cook of American Idol rocked out in their tighty-whities to Old Time Rock N' Roll for Guitar Hero? Well Activision Publishing is back in full force with their latest installment of their "Risky Business"-inspired Guitar Hero ads; a new commercial for Guitar Hero World Tour, which hits stores today. Directed by Brett Ratner, the commercial features big sports stars jamming - like Kobe Bryant (on the mic), Tony Hawk (on the drums) and Michael Phelps and Alex Rodriguez (on the guitar). A must see indeed!

In case you missed the big season premiere of Saturday Night Live this past weekend, you definitely have to check out out the brilliant Sarah Palin impersonation done by Tina Fey. Then you have to watch this skit which features SNL host Michael Phelps in a hilarious T-Mobile Fave 5 commercial. Too funny! I can't help but dare to ask. . . Who's in your Fave 5?

With the 2008 Summer Olympics coming to a close in Beijing yesterday, all eyes were certainly on Olympic gold medal winner (eight times over) Michael Phelps. So we already know that Phelps had a fancy schmancy Speedo suit that made him super slippery and buoyant during races, but what about his tech habits? In this week's issue of People, some tech tidbits about Phelps were revealed! Here are some of my faves:

He just taught his mom Debbie how to text message so she can text him from the stands at the games. Although he admits she's still pretty slow and makes lots of spelling mistakes!
His iPod has some techno and country music on it, but it's mainly filled with rap. Some of his favorite artists include Jay-z, Eminem, OutKast, and Lil' Wayne.
The song he played on his iPod before races during the Olympics was Lil' Wayne's "I'm Me."
To help him relax between meets, Phelps would get geeky and play cards (mainly poker) with teammates.

A few weeks ago we saw Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, Michael Phelps, and Alex Rodriguez get down and dirty for the commercial. And this week? Who else, but Heidi Klum . . . Yeah, this is exactly how I rock out with Guitar Hero, too.
