I'm a sucker for listening to all my new favorite songs on YouTube, so when I saw this neat tip on Lifehacker, I wanted to share it with all of you! To get started you'll need Firefox and this Greasemonkey extension. The Googlesystem Blog explains that this Greasemonkey script creates a section titled "lyrics" below the video's description, and will display them when expanded (you'll notice different lyrics services for the song).

No, I didn't just pick this one because Hugh Grant is deliciously British and charming. In Music and Lyrics Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore play a washed up singer (Grant) who is given a few days to compose a chart topping hit, and a younger woman who plays his muse (Barrymore). Front and center in most of the musical scenes in the movie are the ever-classy Ultrasone PROline 550 S-Logic Headphones.

I swear I can listen to a song over 100 times and still manage to mess up the words, or make up my own — kinda like the Romy and Michele's High School Reunion scene when they sing Footloose (Footloose manages to turn into cut loose).
Because I regularly watch music videos on YouTube, I've used this Greasemonkey extension to help me with song lyrics, but what about my iTunes library? Thankfully a reader has submitted a neat download to the Download of the Day group to help this geek out.

Ever since my first Google search, life as I knew it changed forever. Google is really revving up their search engine thanks to small but helpful enhancements like being able to find your friends on social networking sites or by refining your search results by date and time.
And now that Google has teamed up with companies like imeem, Pandora, Lala, Sony Music, EMI, and WB, they are now able to deliver a new music search feature that makes it easy to discover music and listen to the track from one of these partner companies.

With the third season of the web based series The Guild starting August 25, the fantasy MMO characters are appearing in a new music video called, "Do You Want to Date My Avatar?" With The Guild star Felicia Day serenading us with lines like, "You'll never see my actual face, our love will be in virtual space." The video basically mocks all of the stereotypes associated with people having really hot avatars in role playing games like World of Warcraft.

There are a lot of cute songs about Internet love, but few are actual great songs you'd listen to more than once — the kinds of songs that get stuck in your head, that you desperately want to download so you can listen to over and over. "I Heart You Online," sung by two beautiful, angel-faced and accented girls and accompanied by the ukulele (the unofficial meme instrument), is the rare song that is a wonderful tune in its own right. I predict big things for these girls.

Remember Kelly Clarkson's song "Because of You," her ballad dedicated to learning hard lessons? Well, some young YouTube stars have reworked the song to gush about what they've gotten out of the video-posting site. Sure, the lyrics are a little reaching, the tones a little pitchy, but man are these little girls cute.
