We all know that gadgets can cost a lot of money, but some fall into my "look but don't touch" category. I'm willing to shell out a pretty penny if the gadget's cost per use is way low (like splurging on an iPhone - I use it everyday!), but I'll steer my pocketbook clear of these items! I finally invested in the Clarisonic device that Bella has been raving about and rushed home to try it, only to find the instructions suggest charging the device for 24 hours before its first use. It was the ultimate luxury gadget letdown - all I wanted to do was test it, and I had to wait patiently.

Most battery experts claim you can prolong battery life by charging them fully before their inaugural use. It makes sense, but it's not always feasible (or fun!) to wait. Do you fully charge your gadgets before your first use?

The Beat Goes On with Dr. Dre's New Headphones

Set to make their debut this Friday, and retailing for $350 (I know, totally pricey, but hear me out before you get turned off), the Beats headphones are like what a Bentley is to cars - luxurious, high quality, and worth every penny.

Dr. Dre has teamed up with Monster to create headphones that offer deep bass, clarity and a high definition listening experience. With isolation technology, plush breathable cushions for your ears, and an included Monster iSoniTalk cable with a built-in answer button and mic for the iPhone, as I said, worth the dough-re-mi.

You'll notice in the pics below that the headphones come wrapped and packed in total perfection.

The Beats by Dr. Dre will be available at Apple and Best Buy stores. You can also get them online via these retailers as well.

Tiffany & Co.'s Gold and Diamond Camera Charm Bracelet

I'm not typically the kind of girl who is drawn to Tiffany & Co., but when they make such a geeky item, it's an obvious play for my affections!

This Camera Charm Bracelet is 18-carat gold with a little diamond for the lens - that actually rotates. Way too rich for my blood though - $1,500 for the charm alone, and another $1,500 for the chain. Yikes! I guess if you're the kind of girl who drops two grand on an YSL laptop bag, then you're the audience for this.

Still, it's worth a great big sigh, isn't it?

The Dior Phones Are Real and Really Expensive

The rumored Christian Dior phones? Well, they actually exist and will be officially announced today. The company is hoping to tap into new markets in China and Russia, much like Prada and Dolce & Gabbana, its competitors in luxury goods, and those who have already succeeded in the mobile phone industry. The "Dior phones" will be manufactured by ModeLabs and are said to cost around . . . $5,000 each.

I don't see any gold or diamonds adorning the phone, so why the big price tag? The phone is said to include a "mini phone" labeled "My Dior," which is about the size of a USB stick. Basically it's for ridiculously rich women ('cause those are the only people who will be able to afford this phone) who don't want to search through their purses for their phones. They can just answer the tiny one that's clipped on their bag (basically paired via Bluetooth with the main phone). Neat concept, but not worth the hefty price.

I'm stoked about the future of technology and design, because I'm witnessing products now that look like my favorite futuristic movies that I watched back in the day! From sleek cell phones to high tech beds to lounge on, concept design is becoming an obsession of mine. It's an iPod Dock! The egg shaped dock and speaker system was the brainchild of New Jersey designer Nathan Gabriele and when I stumbled across the pics, I just had to share. Open up the egg and you find two satellite speakers, with the base acting as a sub woofer for you to bump during your next get together. Plus, if you want to take it with you and show it off at your friend's pad, just drop it in its hot little neoprene jacket for easy transport. I definitely need one of these! What Is Your Dream Tech?

Ever since I saw these amazing outdoor home theaters on Unplggd and GeekAbout, I've been having some major personal drive-in fantasies. Of course, that's a slippery slope, because then I start thinking, well, if I could afford that, I'd have a 52-inch flat screen, a bathroom tricked out with a TV and an iPod dock, and a hybrid Mini Cooper (I'd commission it!). So now that I've spilled, tell me ladies, if money were no object, what fantasy gadget would you have? Feel free to make stuff up too, like I did with the hybrid Mini!

Hi-Can Canopy Bed Makes Lounging Extra Comfy

I'll admit, there are days when I don't want to get out of bed and would rather lay around watching movies and funny vids on YouTube. But that would mean getting out of bed in the first place, which totally defeats the purpose! If you have the notion to completely veg-out (and have a few extra grand lying around) consider the Hi-Can Bed a superb investment.

Some people may go to extremes to buy the gadgets they love. We've all heard the stories of Apple fans sitting outside for days in the cold for the iPhone, and others plunking down hundreds of dollars to scalpers for the latest game console that isn't available on store shelves. Have you ever gone the distance to get your hand on a gadget that you just couldn't live without? Would you eat Top Ramen every day for every meal until you got it? Based on national facts, the average person in the US makes around $46,000 dollars a year, which will barely get you a Ferrari Phone to tote around. So just for fun - and keeping in mind this is not including any of your other financial obligations - let's see how long the average American would have to live on Top Ramen to get their hands on the ultimate gadgets. Prada Ombre Laptop Bag: Love It or Leave It?

I would never be able to justify the $1,116 price tag of this Prada laptop bag, but it's still pretty fabulous eye candy, don't you think?

I'm excited that Prada brought its ombre theme over to laptop bags that a chic geek can appreciate, but paying as much for your bag as you do for your laptop?! I don't know. Then again, I justify some outrageousness for my handbags, and this bag could conceivably double as one. But for this much money - and that's Bluefly's sale price - it really needs to be a classic. What do you think? Instant classic or forgettable eye candy?
