Go Green to Work With the Silva Bamboo Laptop Case

Are you down with the bamboo gadget and accessory trend? Now is the perfect time to get on board, not only because Earth Day is just a few short days away, but because there's a new laptop case on the market that promises eco-friendly protection and style. Called Silva ($179), this case wraps your 13- and 15-inch MacBooks in carmel bamboo and hand-oiled leathers, so you can tote your machine to and from work with a smaller (eco) footprint.

A Repurposed Rubber Laptop Sleeve From (My Favorite!) PKG

Laptop sleeves come in all shapes, sizes, and materials, but this may be the first rubber sleeve I've seen. Each bag from PKG's Rubber Bag Collection is handmade in India from recycled truck tires, using repurposed seatbelt straps for carrying. The smaller sleeve fits laptops and tablets up to 13 inches for $80; the larger holds a laptop as big as 16 inches for $90.

If you're less artistic, it's OK - you can still choose from a selection of premade cases that are way more unique than standard offerings.

Customize colors, sizes, and shape, and feel good knowing that these cases are handmade in Brooklyn. Sleeves start at around $60, and to me it seems like a steal if you can forever capture your true style, or carry around your favorite images wherever you go. It's not often that I run across something so well put together in one afternoon, so I thought I'd share my shopping finds with you retro-styled geeks that love a little bit of vintage flair to go with your gadgets. First, enter the 13-inch MacBook Air ($1,300) - a featherweight laptop that can go with you just about anywhere. Add in a handmade Etsy purple corduroy CushCase ($24) to keep it like new, and a canvas and leather ModCloth Fog City Sunset Bag ($254) that takes you back to the days of acid wash jeans, and you have a perfectly hipsterized trio that will last you at least until the '80s trend is over.

Laptop Case Plus Pillow Equals the Naptop

My favorite find at this year's Macworld: the Naptop, a new kind of laptop sleeve from Trexta. The Naptop, which will hit stores sometime before Spring, is part laptop case and part pillow, perfect for flights or other long trips.

Your 13-inch laptop fits snugly between two padded sides of the case, so it's secure while you nap. A strap on the back of the case secures the Naptop (which functions well as a pillow without your laptop inside) to a car, train, or airplane seat's headrest. The Naptop will be available sometime in the next month or so in black and pink, both with funny and adorable sheep detailing.

While the Naptop isn't the most space-efficient way to carry your laptop while traveling, if you're planning on toting a pillow for your journey, it's an excellent and adorable two-in-one option.
