They don't call it a laptop for no reason! If you manage to constantly use your laptop, on your lap, you probably find that your legs get unbearably hot. Intelligent Forms Design realized that this is a common problem and decided to whip up a creative solution, which totally caught my eye on Luxist.

They designed three totally distinct pillows, which are not only adorable and ingenious, but they help to keep your laptop cool as well! Choose from log, button or terrapin pillows that are made from natural fiber fabrics and provide extra support and increased air ventilation. Now for the catch, the price, which is $160 each for all designs. . . Ouch! That's OK, I don't plan on trading in my amazing Ikea laptop stand anytime soon anyways!

Geek Tip: Use a Pillow Case as an Emergency Laptop Sleeve

Ever rushing out on a trip and realize you need a laptop sleeve like one of these chic styles? Or sometimes you're just trying to get out the door when you don't have a laptop bag or sleeve handy, and you need to slip your computer into another bag - and you don't want to let it bang up against the other contents of your bag.

For those times, hit up your linen closet for a pillow case. Slip your computer into the bottom, fold the excess fabric over, and bam, slip that into your bigger bag. It's not heavy duty protection, obviously, but it'll shield your laptop from superficial scratches and dents.

This is especially great if you're carrying on your laptop for a flight but don't want to carry it in a separate bag (especially now that so many airlines charge you to check any bags), or if your laptop sleeve's padding takes up a little more room than you'd like. Easy, clever, and not even as low rent as using a sock as a camera case.

Ikea Brada Laptop Cushion, for Cozy Time

I've never really been that into laptop cushions, mostly because they remind me of those padded desks I used as a kid on road trips.

They've just never seemed that comfortable - until I spotted the Brada laptop cushion on a trip to Ikea this weekend.

Its comfy half-moon shape would be ergonomic, and easier to use when you just want to sink into your couch - or, as per their staging suggestion, while chillaxin' in bed. The price for this coziness: $18.

Tech Dating 101: Should Gadgets Be Allowed in the Bedroom?

In our Tech Dating 101 series, we've already tackled hot topics like whether it's appropriate to make big life announcements online, how to handle changing your relationship status online, and if texting during a date is rude. And now for this week's question: should Gadgets Be Allowed In the Bedroom?

This is a tough one because I'm as guilty as the next person for dragging my laptop, cell phone, and DS Lite into the (bed)room with me - and that's not even including the big flatscreen that permanently lives in there!

But there comes a point when you have to set the gadgets aside when there's another person involved. Take for instance my boyfriend (love you honey), who is still in the goo-goo-ga-ga phase with his iPhone and therefore feels the need to bring it to bed with him. Those few quiet minutes before you call it a night - you know, the pillow talk time? - in my opinion is important for healthy relationships and should be treated as undivided attention, zero-distraction time . . . that means nighty night for the iPhone, too!

I think there's a time and place for gadgets, and at some point, they need to be turned off and stowed away.

How can you tell if "gadget time" in the bedroom is getting to be too much? Just read more.

If either person in the relationship is feeling like the TV, cell phone, or laptop is getting more attention then they are in the bedroom, then that's a surefire indication that there needs to be a tech intervention. Tell your partner how you are feeling, that there's always tomorrow to check email, tweet, and play online games. Hopefully, they will make you a priority over their gadget obsession.

Yeah, I know sometimes you want to put your laptop on your lap, bed, or a pillow, like Carrie does, but if you're going to, please use protection. And if the usual laptop fans out there bother you, and you need something that screams goofy fun then how about this USB-powered Penguin Cooling Fan ($25)?
