I don't normally go for a laptop backpack (I'm more of a tote kind of girl), but for the sake of utility, I just had to brag about my Booq Boa Laptop Backpack find. Not only does the Boa pack your 13-17 inch laptops, iPods, and boasts enough room to store a few books or folders, but it also has a special bottom compartment for your SLR and top section to fit your full-sized headphones. . .all within a secure and padded shell.

This bag is ah-mazing when it comes to storage. If you click through the gallery, you'll see that Booq has managed to stuff a mouse and mousepad as well as a pretty bulky travel book in with all the other goods I mentioned. And at $200, it's a steal. But really, all this girl wants is her Hayden-Hartnett. Call me shallow, but I like a good fashionable tote.

Incase Nylon Backpack: I May Have to Start Using a Backpack

Even though I think they're useful, I haven't considered owning a backpack, particularly a laptop backpack, since I was in high school. I may have to rethink that stance. Incase's new Nylon Backpack ($100), which fits all MacBooks, is - though quite utilitarian - surprisingly droolworthy.

Maybe it's the color; cyan is my obvious fave (it also comes in burgundy, olive, black, red, and gray) - but what I'm really attracted to is all the organized pockets for all my peripherals and accessories. Does this change your mind about laptop backpacks too?

Leather Laptop Backpack: Love It or Leave It?

Do my eyes deceive me? Could it be . . . an exceptionally chic laptop backpack? Kenneth Cole's leather Case-adilla not only has a clever name, fine-grain beautiful brown leather, it's also convertible, should you need to remove it from your back.

I've seen laptop backpacks before, but usually from a utility standpoint - manufacturers haven't really mixed "chic" with "backpack" before - until now, that is. Not to mention that it's totally unisex. What's your take on the laptop backpack?

I've always wanted to try-out Built's laptop cases - You know the company behind the funky and flexible lunch bag totes? Well at CES, I got a sneak-peek of Built's latest addition to their laptop tote collection, the lightweight backpack. This ultra-slim bag fits right against your back and can be used to transport your laptop and other items as the shoulder strap includes an easy-access compartment. The backpacks are set to go on sale this April, will be available in medium and large sizes, and cost $80 each. I'm not really digging this zebra style print although I could see myself using the black one. Is it too geeky or do you think it's geek chic?

How Do You Carry Your Laptop?

Since most of us tote around laptops on a daily basis, I'm curious to know how you carry your laptop- whether it be a proper laptop bag, a laptop sleeve, backpack, purse, or some other contraption.

I use a variety of bags and usually pick something last minute that matches my outfit or the size of the main bag I am carrying on that particular day. Normally I wouldn't consider wearing a backpack because of its bulkiness and lack of style, but when I saw this cute Komen Paris Backpack, I started to reconsider. I think if I used a bag like this to distribute the weight of my laptop, my shoulders and back would be extremely grateful.

You May Already Have an Airport Security-Friendly Laptop Bag!

It turns out that you may not have to sacrifice style for convenience after all. After announcing that the TSA would approve certain laptop bags that you wouldn't have to take your computer out of in the airport security line, the first prototypes were underwhelming, and had me thinking I'd just continue to take my laptop out of its bag. But now it seems that's unnecessary, because the TSA has approved a few common laptop styles that you won't have to remove your laptop from!

They are: Butterfly style, trifold style, and sleeve style, and this policy went into effect on Saturday.

The TSA specifically says no to backpack and accordion styles, and of course, gives the stipulation that carrying these styles doesn't guarantee that you won't have to pull your laptop out of its bag. But still, baby steps.
