Celebrate Comic-Con With Classic Comic iGoogle Themes

Hey iGoogle users, it's time for some new themes. The latest ways to pretty up your iGoogle homepage have arrived, and they're celebrating the geek Super Bowl: Comic-Con!

Not only is the event starting this weekend (stay tuned to Buzz, who will be reporting from there), it's the 40th anniversary of Comic-Con, so Google saw fit to celebrate classic comics by creating themes around them.

Pick from Superman, Batman, Peanuts, and Iron Man, and even cult favorites like comics from Daniel Clowes and Tokyopop.

Last night during the Game Developers Conference here in San Francisco, Google's vice president of search products and user experience, Marissa Mayer, announced new gaming themes for iGoogle! With video games like Super Mario Bros., Guitar Hero, and World of Warcraft to choose from, avid gamers can spice up and personalize their iGoogle homepage with their favorite game. It's kinda scary how excited I get about iGoogle Themes. OK, you got me, it's all of Google's themed services that really make me drool. Well if you haven't found that perfect theme to personalize your iGoogle page with as of yet, Google has just announced that you can create your own theme.

With Google's new tool for designing your own theme, you can add and tweak images, include all of your favorite colors and preview your theme before it goes live on your site. And if you really love it (and think others would too), you can choose to publish it for the public to use as well!

New iGoogle Designer Themes Continue to be Hot, Hot, Hot

It doesn't matter that it's the end of the Summer, Google continues to churn out one hot product after the other. In the past two weeks alone, we saw the launch of Chrome and the facial-recognition technology of Picasa, and now they've released more fabulous iGoogle themes.

Where the first batch of designer themes included Todd Oldham, Diane Von Furstenburg, and Dolce & Gabbana, this crop includes not only designers like Stella McCartney, Vera Wang, Anna Sui, and Burberry, but some off-the-wall choices like Radiohead and Gnarls Barkley. I can't take my eyes (or iGoogle page) away from the Stella McCartney theme; what's your pick?

iGoogle Gets Artsy With New Themes!

Google has just launched a new collection of pretty swanky new iGoogle themes that are sure to pimp your personalized iGoogle page. I opted for the tres chic Dolce and Gabbana leopard one, but I'm sure I'll mix it up since there are over 70 creations by various artists from around the world to choose from! Other famous artists include Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, and Tory Burch. And for those who can't stand to pick just one theme for their page, Google has created a sampler theme that rotates through all their participating artists' themes!

To change your theme, click on "select theme" in the lower, bottom right corner of the picture at the top of your iGoogle page.

So maybe the cat's outta the bag on the fact that I'm obsessed with iGoogle Themes . . . I just can't deny the fact that it is such a great way to add some flair to your iGoogle home page!

Sing We Joyous! iGoogle Gets More Themes!

It was just over a month ago when Google added five new iGoogle themes to their stash of iGoogle goodies. Well they've done it again folks. . . Three new themes have been added to the list! Check out Holiday Village, Bus Stop and Seasonal Scape below. And just like the others, they will sync to your time zone and local weather-gotta love the Bus Stop theme in the rain. I can't help but tell myself that these are an early Christmas present from Google!

Brand Spanking New iGoogle Themes

Just when I thought my iGoogle page was needing a serious makeover, Google adds these new themes to its collection. From top to bottom they are: Autumn, JR, Solar System, Hong Kong, and Aja Tiger. To change your theme, click on "select theme" in the lower, bottom right corner of the picture at the top of your iGoogle page. I'm totally fixated on the Aja Tiger one right now, but I'm sure Hong Kong will be getting some love very soon. Thanks for passing along Calamari!
