Wireless "Eye-Fi" Photo Card Available in More Places

Starting Jan. 11, Eye-Fi users can upload photos directly to Microsoft Windows Live, Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery, and Costco's Photo Center.

If you recall, the Eye-Fi is the first wireless memory card for digital cameras that allows users to wirelessly send photos directly from their digital camera to their computer or online photo sharing site using home Wi-Fi networks. These new upload choices mean Eye-Fi users will be able to select from a total of 20 photo destinations.

According to a press release, Eye-Fi cards will be sold at additional retail channels including Costco, PC Mall and Mac Mall for $100, which means the cards will be more readily available to all the photography geeks that want to test the cards out.

Earlier this week I shared some of my hot gadget predictions for 2008, some of which were utterly foreseeable (for example the success and hype around the wireless Kindle reader is bound to make eReaders a heavily replicated device) and some were more hopeful (please, please let there be more flash based personal media players!). Cell Phone Naomi Campbell Should Get

If Naomi Campbell had thrown this bendy and soft mobile phone at her assistant we might never have seen her marching to community service in haute couture and she might not have an assault record. The phone is encased in a flexible plastic housing so you can essentially play Bop-It with it without damaging it. It features a soft flexible display - it's 2.75-in. diagonal, 433 × 266 pixels - and the keys are located on the surface and made from a malleable plastic. I don't have any aggressive diva tendencies, but I wouldn't mind one myself. Sadly, it's just a concept.

Vintage Geek: Keracolor Sphere TVs

There's no denying the fact that we live in a time of flat screen televisions. In fact, a recent trip to my local Best Buy proved that you can only buy flat screens in their stores these days. Clearly, that was not always the case. In 1968, a British man named Arthur Bracegirdle designed the Keracolor television, the world’s first perfectly spherical TV made from fibreglass. While they probably wouldn't be the ideal set to hook up your TiVo or DVR to, I think they'd bring a little funk to any retro-mod living room.

The company closed in 1977, but Born Rich alerts me that they are back in production and being made from the same shells. The new Keracolor Sphere TV (see image below) combines a retro look and contemporary technology. The sets are small (they come in 20 and 25 inches) and cost about $3,000.

Flashlight Player: Beams Media Instead of Light

This Flashlight-Inspired Media Player concept might not have commercial success written all over it, but it's intriguing shape coupled with the fact that it would be perfect for presentations and travel makes it worth considering. You control the device by rotating knobs along the "flashlight" body. It allows you to project your interface, pictures, and movies onto a wall instead of a screen. It can be connected to wireless earbuds or speakers. Would you buy it?

Samsung Phone With Editing Capabilities

Do you ever take videos on your cell phone and think, hey, I want to edit this 30-seconds of my dog running in circles on my phone and get it online right now? If so, you're in luck. According to Info World, Samsung Electronics will add video editing and production functions to a new cellphone so users can shoot, edit, and upload videos to Internet video sites without using a computer. The Samsung SCH-B750 phone will shoot CIF-resolution images (352 pixels by 288 pixels) and include software to edit the images and do limited production work, such as adding a caption or background music. Once done the videos can be immediately uploaded to online sites. It will apparently cost around $655, which is right at the same price point as the iPhone.

The SCH-B750 isn't the only phone with such capabilities, apparently Casio Computer recently launched a digital still camera with a dedicated mode for shooting YouTube videos and companion software that can upload the clips to the web. So I guess it's "point, shoot, edit, click" now?

Bite This: Pac-Man Chair

A furniture designer from Cologne, Germany, has come up with fun concept drawings for a Pac-Man-inspired lounge chair. The chair may take the shape of a vintage geek iconic video game, but it's surprisingly neat-looking and simple.

While I can't understand a word on M.J.Bing's website, I know this much is true: I would be perfectly happy listening to Pac-Man Fever and sitting in this chair all day. While blogging, of course. It wouldn't be a bad gaming chair either, considering it's got that whole low to the ground rocking thing going for it. All it needs is built-in speakers and the SlouchPod could get off my "someday, when I have kids" shopping list.

Flying Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse

Am I the only person who is pretty darn excited to try out the MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse from Logitech? Releasing this August, the device will cost $150 and will work on your desk or in the air. That's right folks, you can use the MX Air to browse and play your favorite media because the sensor transforms hand motions into natural, responsive cursor controls. You adjust volume by waving to the right or left and skip tracks with a flip of the wrist. Sounds a lot like the wii-mote, the Nintendo Wii Console controller, to me!

Tangible 3D Glove Will Let User 'Feel' Images

I thought the new multi-touch Microsoft Surface table, which uses cameras to sense objects, hand gestures and touch, was about as tactile as gadgets would get this year. I was wrong. A Japanese company NTT Comware has fashioned a realistic 3D imaging technology that connect to a sensor-packed glove and allows you to both see and "feel" images.

Offi Mag Table: Mod Laptop Desk Option

As someone who admittedly blogs in uncomfortable places - namely the couch, the living room floor and my bed - I am whole heartedly enchanted by this Offi Mag Table that doubles as a laptop desk. It was originally created as a side table or seat with storage, but as Apartment Therapy notes, it can be rotated on it's side for use as a laptop table.

A similar model is being sold from Mod Seed for $139.
