There's a new gadget trend in town, and love it or not, it's hit the geek circuit with a bang. Geeky product connoisseur Thinkgeek has unveiled the Hip Holster and Shoulder Holster, which seem to combine the needs of James Bond, Han Solo and Dwight Schrute into two very geeky cases. "As a world-renowned super-spy, you've got a pile of gadgets at your disposal, but you've also got to keep your secret identity a secret," says Thinkgeek. "You have to be able to blend into the crowd at a moment's notice."

The shoulder model is $49.99 and the hip model is $59.99, which means you are even paying more for the extra geekiness of having a gadget strap around your thigh. Would you wear one?

Mobile Protector: Least Chic Thing On The Planet

If you would have asked me yesterday what I thought the most heinous gadget holder I've ever seen was I'd probably tell you the Hip Holster and Shoulder Holsters, which combine the needs of James Bond, Han Solo and Dwight Schrute into two very geeky cases.

Well, a lot has changed since yesterday, most notably, I've been exposed to the Strap Ya Mobile Protector. It appears to be a mouse trap and shopping cart hybrid, with a leather strap and a hint of policeman style. Am I crazy, or is this is the tackiest gadget holder/cell phone clip collaboration you've ever seen?

Shoulder Bag Ghetto Blaster

The very sight of a ghetto blaster, particularly a Dually Talented Human Ghetto Blaster, is enough to warm my heart and throw me into a retro glee coma, but the sight of the Shoulder Bag Ghetto Blaster has me thinking about long walks I can take around the Bay Area to show off my geek chic gear. Though it's just a concept at this point, the head of the blaster purse provides space for a large bass speaker, and the long narrow end of the horn-like shape serves as a bass reflex tube. You can wear it on your hip - although that might put you in dangerous gadget holster territory - or around your shoulder like a bookbag.

Holsterbags - Taking The Geek World By Storm

After seeing the Hip and Shoulder Holsters on a couple super geeky sites last week I predicted they were the next big trend in geekdom. And boy, was I correct. The ideal gift for the James Bond, Han Solo and Dwight Schrute in your life, the case has taken a new shape: the Holsterbag.

Apparently, the bag was created after designer Beatrice Larossa had heard enough complaints by her male friends that they couldn´t find a practical solution to carry all their necessary daily items. They had no interest in carrying around Girl-like purses and everything else was either too big and/ or too unpractical. Priced at nearly $440, these bags aren't cheap but then again, nothing this geeky ever is.
