You've got Band Hero, DJ Hero, Beatles Rock Band, Rapstar — the list of upcoming video games is a music lover's dream. But with all these new music-focused games, is there still room for the arguable originator, Guitar Hero, set to release its fifth iteration next month?
The new GH will feature a new guitar and the ability to import old Guitar Hero songs, and it will support four players for simultaneous playing.

Generally, when I'm getting ready to "shred" on Guitar Hero, I just wear something that won't get in the way of using the whammy bar (though one day, I'm going to dress up as Casey Lynch if I can amass that much leather).
Now I may have to throw on this Ryde Guitar Hero Tee ($24).
The tee, which is also available in black and white, is good for rocking inside and showing your love on the street.

If you were waiting patiently for more details on the latest installment of Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 5, then let me offer you this peek of the franchise's latest peripheral: the new guitar.
Shiny and pretty, is it not? The main changes are to the slider, which instead of analogue signals, now sends digital signals.

Oh, Guitar Hero, no matter how much more I focus on Rock Band these days, you are still my hero.
Therefore, I need to get my button-strumming hands on this Guitar Hero Wall Decal ($18).
It's just too apropos for me— though where to put it?

With the latest March Madness/Metallica inspired spot, I thought I'd remind you of the past stars who've stripped down to their pink shirt and undies, and slipperiest socks, and yes, taken those old records off the shelf.

Not only does Danny Johnson speak four languages, play the piano, saxophone, oboe, and drums, but he also set the Guinness World Record for the highest score in Guitar Hero playing the toughest song available: "Through The Fire and Flames." I am not even close to completing the song, and am kind of in awe of how fast his 14-year-old fingers move on that plastic guitar.

His score of 890,971 is the world's highest, and Danny says that if anyone beats his score, he'll be right on their tail with even more points.

Remember back in May, when David Archuleta and David Cook of American Idol rocked out in their tighty-whities to Old Time Rock N' Roll for Guitar Hero? Well Activision Publishing is back in full force with their latest installment of their "Risky Business"-inspired Guitar Hero ads; a new commercial for Guitar Hero World Tour, which hits stores today. Directed by Brett Ratner, the commercial features big sports stars jamming — like Kobe Bryant (on the mic), Tony Hawk (on the drums) and Michael Phelps and Alex Rodriguez (on the guitar).
