If you've already become obsessed with sending virtual gifts on TeamSugar, why not step it up a notch this Valentine's Day by sending your pals an eco geek-chic Virtual Flower Pot?!

When I first saw this on Popgadget, I had no idea how interactive this bouquet is. Not only do the tulips beautify your desktop, but they actually grow when you "virtually" water them!

Just make sure the recipient has Google Desktop 4 or above, and yes, remind him or her to water the new flowers!

Geek Tip: Add Desktop Gadgets To Your iGoogle Page

The Google blogspot has just announced an upgrade to Google Desktops-which basically helps you pimp out your personalized Google page even more. If you have Google Desktop 5.5 Beta, you can now add desktop gadgets on your iGoogle homepage from the iGoogle Content Directory. All you have to do is click "add it now", drag them where you want them and press shift to show or hide each gadget. I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the 'How To' Help - Guide To All Things Geeky
Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
Choose "Blog"
Give your photo a Title
Leave the category as "general"
Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Geek tip")
Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you think this person is geeky, do it before the code that has appeared.
Click Submit

Get Ultra Personal With The iGoogle Gadget Maker

Google just got a whole lot more personal with its new iGoogle Gadget Maker. Now you can take your iGoogle page (the former personalized homepage) and pimp it out with tons of great features. By using the wizards, you can enter the settings for seven new gadget templates.
Templates include such things like photo albums, greeting messages, simple lists and YouTube videos (sweet)! Gadget Maker will allow users to take all their fave offline info and "share it with friends and family, or the whole world," says Google.

Add Google Talk To Your Personalized Homepage

Google has just launched the Google Talk Gadget, which lets you add Google Talk to your Google personalized homepage, blogs or webpages! What's great is that you don't have to download or install any software and it will automatically import all your Gmail and Google Talk contacts. If you have a Google account, all you have to do is login and Google talk will follow you wherever you go. For more info about this new widget, just click on the video below.

Adrianna's Chic Cell Phone on 90210

I was wondering, would you happen to know what kind of cell phone Adrianna was using on the last episode of 90210? It aired this past Tuesday. It was white and really thin. Very pretty and I was wondering if you would know? Thanks!

You probably know by now that my beloved iPhone is one of my all-time favorite gadgets. But I also love discovering new things, and learning what others can't live without in the My Favorite Gadgets group.

Have You Ever Googled Yourself?

Or maybe I should ask how often? Yesterday John Mayer denied a rumor about him that claimed he was so ego-obsessed, he Googled himself every morning! He responded to it on his blog by saying that it was, "quite simply, untrue." Oh, now John, no need to be defensive! (There are way worse things you could be accused of doing every morning.)

Surely I'm not the only one who's Googled myself! And more than once. I mean, shouldn't you be aware of what's on the web about you? And isn't it just plain fun? There could be someone with your name doing something hilarious or horrible (side note: when I first started dating my boyfriend, he Googled me to find someone with the same name writing some pretty bad poetry, but he stuck with me, potential bad poetry and all).

So, do tell: Have you Googled yourself? How often? Have you ever been surprised by what you've found?

Website of the Day: TownMe

Just moved to a new city or town? Or perhaps you're taking a business trip to a place you've never visited and you're trying to locate some decent restaurants and shopping areas. A recently launched site called TownMe will help you get acquainted with your new surroundings by showing you the best restaurants, bars, and businesses thanks to the "What's Near Me" search tool. I met with the founders yesterday (who food for thought, are two former Google employees) and learned all about this site and its useful features.

Umm hello?! It even has a section under tools where you can check out birthday deals in your city (free food and more!). Aside from discovering where the sugar daddies are located in your city, checking out what other people are tweeting about in your community, or where the best yoga studio is in your neighborhood, TownMe allows you to create your own info page or edit someone else's so you can list out all of your local faves to share with the community as well.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.
Click "New Post" under the website of the day tab at the top of the page.
Give your story a "Title."
Fill in the "Body" with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.
Type "Technology and Gadgets" in the Categories box
Add keyword(s) in the tag field with relevant tags (for example mine for this story was "Website of the Day").
Choose whether you want the post to be private or public.
Click "Create Post" to submit content.

So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the GeekSugar homepage!
