I can never seem to get enough Google goodness, so when I discovered that it was Google's tenth birthday this month and that they set up a fun educational website for this special occasion, I was all over it! Learn trivia tidbits about the company - like what the most popular Google.com search query was in 1999, or when Klingon became one of Google's supported languages - you can find all of these fun facts on their site. You can also check out a really neat time line that showcases all of the Google milestones from the past ten years!

Google's a Teenager! 13 of the Year's Best Google Doodles

Thirteen years ago today Google was born in a legendary Palo Alto garage. In honor of its first year as a teenager, we've compiled our favorite Google doodles of 2011.

A way of celebrating the birthdays of pop culture legends and national milestones, the Google Doodle is a nod to the playful side of the company with a day-long redesign of its corporate logo on the site's homepage. The Google Doodle concept started while the search giant was still in its infancy when founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin added a stick figure to the logo as a way of saying they were out of the office attending Burning Man in the Nevada desert. Over 1,000 doodles have appeared on Google homepages in the US and abroad in the years since.

A team of Google designers work on the doodles, but they are open to receiving suggestions and doodles themselves from the public.

Geek Tip: Export Facebook Friends' Birthdays to Your iCal

In the age of Facebook, it's kind of hard to miss a birthday. But for your really good friends, a simple "Happy Birthday!" on Facebook may not be enough. Instead of going through your entire friends list to mark their birthdays on your smartphone's calendar, you can make things much easier by exporting the dates from Facebook. Just head to the "Events" section of your profile, and click the "Birthdays" link at the bottom of the page. Finally, click on "Export Birthdays" at the bottom of that page to send out the info to your iCal. From there, you can export again to plug in the dates to Entourage or Google Calendar.

Alternatively, you can have Facebook send you a weekly email of all upcoming birthdays so you don't miss a thing. Just head to Account > Account Settings > Notifications > Facebook and check the box that says "Has a birthday coming up (weekly email)."

Today is Natalie Portman's 30th birthday, and while she didn't get a Google Doodle in her honor, she remains one of our favorite actresses with some serious geek cred. In celebration, we're rounding up five facts you may not have known about the mom-to-be that show off her geeky nature. Read on and geek out!

She's a science nerd - Natalie was named a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search in 1998 thanks to her high school research paper, "A Simple Method to Demonstrate the Enzymatic Production of Hydrogen from Sugar." Science is sexy.
She loves her gadgets - Natalie keeps a Kindle on her at all times, and totes an iPad 3G to stay connected.
But she's also a vintage tech lover - Natalie says she still owns the first iPod, which first hit the scene in 2001. Let's face it - in tech terms, that's basically vintage.
She's into graphic novels - Natalie told last year's Comic-Con audience that she's been really into graphic novels since filming V For Vendetta. I wonder what her favorite adaptation would be?
She's Queen Amidala, hello!? - ICYMI, Natalie played Queen Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, which basically makes her queen geek.

Google's Ice Cream Sundae Doodle: Love It or Leave It?

Yesterday's Google Doodle, created in honor of the 119th birthday of the ice cream sundae, caused a bit of a stir on the Internet.

Many thought that the birthday of the sundae didn't seem high profile enough to warrant a Doodle. Others speculated that the design was more of a nod toward the next version of the Android OS, codenamed ice cream. Love it or hate it, it joins a long list of past Doodles - what do you think?
