Power Pole Wall Decals: Geekish or Freakish?

The geeky wall decals I've seen in the past have been cute, but the subjects (Space Invaders and Super Mario Bros.) seemed more appropriate for application in a kid's room.

Here, though, are some wall decals that feature a modern symbol of technology - the power pole - which come off looking starkly chic. From Ferm Living, these Power Pole Wall Decals (click through to the wall stickers section) would certainly make you feel like you're living in a technological wonderland - but would you want that right in your living room? Maybe it takes a certain bravery and look to pull it off.

Beer USB Drive: Geekish or Freakish?

It's kind of hard to surprise me with a USB Drive these days; I feel like I've seen every novelty, and if I haven't yet, I think whatever the new drive (food USBs come to mind), it can be explained as the logical conclusion to a long line of goofy thumb drives. I didn't know quite what to say, though, when I saw the Beer USB Drive.

It's not actually beer floating in there (I don't think), and to get one, you have to order them in bulk, which means you probably don't need flash drives, but an intervention.

What do you think of this boozy USB?

Star Wars Kites: Geekish or Freakish?

I don't know about you, but the insult "go fly a kite" never sounded all that insulting. Kiteflying is delightful! If anyone actually said that to me, I'd be all, "OK." And then I'd go grab my awesome Darth Vader kite and make everyone, ages four to 40, totally jealous of me in the park.

I mean, if you're flying a kite, what does it matter if it's generally marketed toward kids? Darth Vader is totally intimidating. Plus, you can control him! For $30-40, depending on size, Darth or R2 can be your puppet on a string. So would you fly this thing?

Weezer's Geekalicious Video: Geekish or Freakish?

With the new Weezer album cover getting some flack for being a little weird, I have to say that when it comes to their tunes, I'm still a fan. "Pork and Beans" is not only the standout track from their new record, it's also the one song that holds true to their signature sound. And since their album is hitting shelves on June 3, it's only fitting that these guys release a new (and ubergeeky) video.

Thankfully, it's for "Pork and Beans," and it's chock full of YouTube superstars that obviously know a thing or two about how to make it big on the web! I mean really, going from ranting about Britney to being in a Weezer video a la Chris Crocker? The dude has skills. Check out the video and tell me what you think: Geekish or Freakish?

Skirt Mousepad Cover: Totally Geekish or Freakish?

Oh man, it doesn't get much dirtier than this. For all the geeks in your life that constantly have their minds in the gutter, you know, the ones who like things like this. . . well they can now have their hands up a skirt all day long with this skirt mousepad cover by Rinkya - yes, harmless to some, while completely disturbing to others. For only $8, you can keep your mouse and mousepad sheltered in this jean skirt while surfing the net. Just a few words of advice, I suggest making sure it passes HR approval before bringing to the office! And now for the votes to roll on in. . . geekish or freakish?

My Beating Heart Pillow: Geekish or Freakish?

Aw, this makes me think of puppies needing to sleep with an alarm clock nearby so it reminds them of their mother's beating heart. Nearly as cute as that image is the My Beating Heart pillow, a plush, cuddly pillow with a heartbeat inside. They say it's not just a sound or a pre-recorded rhythm, apparently, the little computer inside syncs to your heartbeat when you turn it on and relaxes you.

It pretty much sounds like the best nap-maker ever, especially if your spooning partner is out of town. What do you think of the Beating Heart pillow? Freaking you out or mellowing you out?

Gameboy Shoes: Geekish or Freakish?

I love Gameboy. I love shoes. But I'm not so sure I like them together. Funny thing about this footwear from syberpunk is that the retro Gameboys are still playable!

So, if you're bored waiting for the bus (which, I only assume you would be riding, vs. walking anywhere in these), the Gameboy shoe is perfect since you just swing your foot over your knee, pop out your Gameboy, and have some old-school fun! Although there are no prices listed, I happen to think that you can't put a price tag on such a geeky work of art. Now, finding the right outfit to accent the shoe is another problem all together. The Lapdome: Geekish or Freakish?

As attached as I am to my laptop, when I imagine myself lying in the sun poolside, I can't seem to envision myself glued to it. Geekish or Freakish? Bluetooth Mini Phone

Now this is an interesting concept which I spotted on GeekAlerts. Wear a retro phone handset around your neck and use it as a your bluetooth handheld for your cell phone. Yes with the $70 bluetooth mini phone lanyard you can answer calls from your cell via the tiny one by pressing the call button. I'm gonna vote freakish on this one and suggest a possible douchebag vote as well. What are your thoughts?
