Cars Of Famous Computer Geeks

I don't know if it's my fascination with famous techie tycoons or if I have an inner fetish for things that make me go vroom, but when Automotoportal compiled a list of famous geeks and their rides, I needed to know more. When money isn't an issue for these well-known gazillionaires, it's interesting to see what make and model of cars they take to the streets.
Bill Gates of Microsoft cruises around in a 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe, while Apple mogul Steve Jobs drives a Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG. Larry Ellison of Oracle uses his Bentley Continental Flying Spur for joyrides and Michael Dell of Dell computers speeds around in a 2008 Porsche Boxster. Sweet rides all around, but I kinda figured Jobs to be a vintage car guy too. Now if only they'd take some advice from New York Times technology columnist and CBS news correspondent David Pogue and drive a Toyota Prius - being earthy is just as hot. Just ask Leo.

Eco-fy Your Wedding!

In honor of Earth Day (and wedding season here on PopSugar Network) we're serving up some easy and simple ways to make your wedding just a bit more earth friendly from a geek's perspective. These days, getting down with protecting Mother Earth can be simple.

From your wedding shower, to the big event and to all the details in between, little changes can certainly help our planet and our pocketbooks! Making your wedding eco friendly has never been more simple (and surprisingly) cost effective. Besides, wouldn't you rather spend all that extra cash on the honeymoon, or better yet? That flat screen HDTV you've been eyeing? Go, Earth!

Invites - We've already talked about how a wedding website can save you time, money, and the planet, and since all of your ceremony and reception information is in one place, no one will be losing the details on your big day. Allowing your guests to RSVP directly on the site at any time can reduce or negate the need for paper invites. However, if you are a traditionalist and want to send out your dream monogrammed paper invitations, make sure your paper is 100 percent recycled.

You have invested many hours and dollars in to getting just the right set of songs on your iPod, so wouldn't it be nice to listen to your awesome music collection in your car? Well, as it turns out there are many options available to make listening to your iPod while driving a piece of cake. Below are geekSugar's recommendations for the best ways to cruise with your tunes.

Good

Cassette adapter. If you’re still cruising in a car with a cassette player, you can get a tape adapter for $20 or less and connect it directly to the same port you stick your headphones in. The biggest drawback to this option is the wires, but it is a super easy and inexpensive alternative. The sound will be clearer than the transmitter option (below), but still a little tinny. Get one here for $19.99.

Two more options, so

Better

FM transmitter. Connect your iPod to the transmitter and broadcast your tunes over the air on an open FM frequency. Simply tune your car stereo to the FM station displayed on the device and you’re in business. This option is also inexpensive and easy and is wireless, but the sound isn’t ideal. Get one here for $57.98.

Best

Stereo system. If your car is new enough, you can connect your iPod directly into your stereo system, which means you will be able to control (and charge) your iPod via your regular stereo buttons. BMW, Volkswagen, Subaru, Volvo, Mercedes and Scion are among the first manufactures to offer the integration, although additional adaptors may cost $100-300.
