The Warring Stars of the Victorian Age

Artist Greg Peltz must've also had this creeping feeling based on the Victorian-style prints he created of Star Wars characters ($125–$349). Chewbacca cuts a dashing profile as a be-monocled "First Mate," and naturally Jabba the Hutt's "Kingpin" is a portrait of the man in charge complete with fancy cigar and top hat.

The numbered and signed nine-by-13-inch prints are for sale through Thrillist in limited edition lots of 75 per image, so hurry and snag your own droid ode to the romance of the 19th century.

Source of Einstein's Genius on Display in Philadelphia

When Albert Einstein died in 1955, the literal symbol of his brilliance - his brain - was preserved and pieces of it divided between research institutions for academic study. Now the Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, a medical history museum specializing in medical oddities, has some of those samples on display to the viewing public.

Forty-six slides containing pieces of Einstein's brain were donated to the museum by a neuropathologist from the city's children's hospital who wanted to ensure this bit of medical and scientific history was properly preserved and shared with the public.

The majority of the samples remain at Princeton's University Medical Center, where the autopsy of the groundbreaking physicist was performed at the time of his death. Researchers studied Einstein's brain over the last five decades searching for any physical clues when compared to other brains to explain the genius of the Nobel Prize winner.

For more information on visiting the exhibit, check out the Mütter Museum website.
Deck Your Walls With Steampunk Rock Star Scientist Posters

These ones in particular - Tesla, Bardeen, Einstein, Bohr, and Oppenheimer - helped to bring about things like radios, X-rays, transistors, and theories on atomic structure and relativity. You know, things we still use today, or were instrumental in advancing technology to what it is now.

Beyond Earth Poster Collection

Could there be any more perfect combination than space fanaticism and mid-century modern graphic design? Answer: no. Which is why this Kickstarter project called "Beyond Earth: A Poster Series" by Stephen Di Donato will make a beautifully, streamlined addition to your living room wall.

Inspired by "mid-century magazine advertisements and ... the printing limitations of silkscreening and letterpress," as well as the exciting decades of the 1950s-1970s where it seemed NASA was constantly uncovering new space discoveries, Stephen reached out to the Kickstarter community to make these finely printed images a reality. Eight payment tiers from $5-$280 will get you digital wallpaper, postcard-sized illustrations, or 18" x 24" posters.
