Legos Make Their Way Into High Fashion

With their bright colors and geometrical shapes, it's no surprise that designers are incorporating Legos into their trend-setting creations. During New York Fashion Week, Spring '08 the Fab ladies had the chance to check out the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring collection, which just so happened to feature Lego belt buckles and hair accessories. It all started with Balenciaga, who came out with the Lego inspired heels in February- supposedly their version of 'sporty stilettos'. As fashion powerhouse Anna Wintour recently said, "Geeks can be chic." Though that statement is nothing new to us, it is fun to see geek pop up in unexpectedly glamorous ways. Our current glam geek obsession is Batman jewelry - we were often caught channeling Batgirl on the playground, after all. The simple aesthetic of the Caped Crusader makes for some surprisingly pretty designs.
