The Beadboard Media Gaming Console fits that grown-up bill, despite being featured on Pottery Barn's younger site, PB Teen. No matter - the price tag ($1,000) is grown up.

In any case, there's a spot for all your awesome black boxes - Wii, Xbox, PS3, TiVo - as well as plenty of shelving to stash games nicely.

Ikea's Gustav Laptop Table Is Good For Small Spaces, Wallets

Surely you can't frown on Ikea in a time such as this, when a recession is at hand? (Not that I ever frown on Ikea, for shame!)

The $150 Gustav Laptop Table isn't merely a petite table that could accommodate your laptop - though it does that with an extendable panel, so you can type or rest it on the leaf or the main surface.

What's great about the Gustav is that the drawer is the perfect size for laptop storage, and inside you'll also find a cable outlet so you can organize or hide the laptop's cords and cables. Plus, it's simple and sturdy and looks fabulous. But you already noticed that.

You know how I feel about using your laptop in goofball ways when you're at home, but with today's sense of urgency, you want to use your computer any way and anywhere you can. I'll never stop advocating beautiful desks, but sometimes you want something different. Check out an Apartment Therapy reader's place, where she brilliantly subbed in a wall-mounted bookshelf to hold her desktop.

Her iMac looks comfortably accessible and her desk's footprint? Nonexistent! Tell me, do you have a creative computer desk situation at home?

One Less Desk Is One More Desk I Want

I have a hard time keeping my desk clean already, but this desk would have a problem staying clear of my drool. It's that pretty. Sure, it's spare and simple, but it's not lacking in the right kind of details.

With One Less Desk ($650), you get a clean, great-looking desk with a tiny footprint - and instead of a keyboard tray or taking up more space, there's a second, lower "deck" for your keyboard, mouse pad, and other peripherals. And when you look at the rear, you find built-in nooks and crannies to wrap your cables around before things get out of control and you need to outsource to extra things like this!

And let's state the obvious: This desk was built for Macs. Available in Apple white or gray, you can match or contrast with a MacBook or MB Pro (even the vents are the same!). But PCs could still rock this, if they're warming to that Mac look a little, hmmm?

Help Me Pick My New TV Stand!

I've been saving up for a new media center to hold all of my games, DVDs, and components for a while now, and I need your help in deciding which one I should get! I'm turning to you, my loyal geeks, to help me solve a home tech dilemma: I need a new TV stand! I've outgrown my sturdy but basic Ikea media console and need something a little more grown-up. It must be under five feet to fit in the spot it'll go into, should have enough storage for my TiVo and multiple gaming consoles, and most of all, be totally geek chic. The TV that will top it is a 50" flat screen. I like clean modern styles and am looking to spend under $500; I'll get you started with one at the top end of my budget, but right in my style: the Halogen Credenza from CB2. If you can find something like this for even less, you'll be my hero! I've narrowed down the field to a select few, but I'm having a pretty hard time making a decision. Spruce Up Your Nerd Den With the Illuminating Coffee Table

I am totally falling in love with Suck UK's geeky-chic goods. Not only can they supply me with an old-school Mixed Tape USB Set that I can slip in my BF's bag to show him some love, but they can make me the queen of my castle with this totally hot Union Jack illuminated coffee table. I am seriously jonesing this thing.

But don't think it won't cost you a pretty penny - this baby comes in at around $4,000 bucks. And if flags aren't your thing, you can order your table minus the Union Jack top. I don't know what is geekier: an independently controlled coffee table with a built-in power connection, or me, who gets all excited over the idea of having lights underneath my furniture and on my clothes. It's probably the latter.

Pottery Barn's Smart Tech Goes on Sale

I've had my eyes on Pottery Barn's Smart Tech line since it launched last year so I was thrilled to learn some of the collection's most practical pieces are finally on sale. The line includes gadget-friendly shelves, desks, chairs and even beds that incorporate easy plugs so your high-tech accessories can power up discreetly. Most of the furnishings have special MP3 player plugins with a recessed area for the device and play music with a pair of built-in speakers. The collection seems most appropriate for teen geeks, but the desk units and shelves are all adult approved. It might be time to redecorate my home office.
