Are you as into Maru the cat as I am? When it comes to viral pets, I didn't think anybody could beat Boo the Pomeranian, but this mischievous box-obsessed kitty is some tough competition. The drunken night aggregator (websites that show off just how wasted you got after mixing one too many strong cocktails) are embarrassing, indulgent, exploitative, frequently hilarious, and are sometimes just plain unavoidable when you have a trigger-happy friend living to tag folks on Facebook Places. Smartphones, camera phones, and contact lists make it easy to upload and spread the word about your overindulgence, so take heed, be cautious, and try to avoid embarrassing yourself on these websites come New Year's Day.

Website of the Day: Damn You, Auto Correct

I don't know that I've laughed this hard at a website in a long time. Anyone with an iPhone is familiar with the helpful/annoying autocorrect feature. While most of the time my phone gets it right, sometimes it'll get a word horribly, horribly wrong. Thus, Damn You, Auto Correct was born. The site is a hilarious compilation of autocorrected messages sent by users who have experienced major autocorrect FAILS.

Just one warning: the site is so hilarious, you'll probably find yourself sucked into all of its awesome.

Spin the Bottle iPhone App - You're all grown up. Just go in for the kiss. Exception: If you have friends over for game night, you can use this free Spin the Bottle app to decide which player is up next. You can even adjust the speed and direction of the bottle.
iFart - Said to be the "original digital sound machine," iFart ($1) does exactly what you think it does and includes features like "security fart" and "sneak attack."

2010 WWDC Highlights: Trends and Observations

At last year's WWDC conference I was surrounded by belching guys and booth babes, but this year took a different turn. There were decidedly more women in the crowd, and zero scantily-clad booth babes - just tastefully dressed ladies that passed out fliers as keynote attendees filtered out of Moscone West.

Although the men were no more classy (I was nearly run over by an older gentleman to get a better seat), there were a few standout trends in the crowd. Check 'em out below.

iPads - Naturally, the Apple fans brought out all their gear for the keynote.
HTC EVO 4Gs - Although iPhones and iPads dominated the landscape, I saw quite a few non-Apple smartphones in the crowd.

New on the Eclipse Soundtrack: Howling Wolves

BuzzSugar has already given you the rundown on the Eclipse soundtrack, but if I had my way, this auto-tuned howling wolf ditty would be added to the track list ASAP. The video takes real-life wolf calls, runs them through auto-tune, and layers them over a hip-hop beat. Personally, I think the track would work perfectly during a moody wolf pack battle scene. Oh, My - Wii Balance Board Blamed For Sex Addiction

We knew the Wii Fit's balance board is to blame for hours of fun, and maybe even some weight loss, but sex addiction? That's news to me! According to a report out of the UK, a 24-year-old woman recently took a tumble off of her balance board and damaged a nerve, which led to a diagnosis of "persistent sexual arousal syndrome," giving her sexual cravings up to 10 times a day. Thankfully, the Manchester resident has been able to control her cravings at home and at work by "breathing deeply."

Granted, the report is coming from a UK tabloid so you should take it with a grain of salt, but it's a fun addition to your gaming news lineup for the week, no?

There are helpful websites whose sole purpose in life is to check and see if a specific website is down for everyone (or if it's just you), and there are equally handy sites to tell you how fast your Internet connection is. Want to know how fast you type? There's a website for that, too. But what if - and this is tricky - you can't tell if your computer is on or not? Thankfully, there is a site out there that offers up an easy way to make that determination. Called Computer Power Test, it simply tells you if your computer is on or off.
