Used to be, if you wanted to be Santa's friend, you'd be a good little girl or boy during the year and he would reward you come Christmas time. But hey, those are the old ways of the world! Now if you want to be Santa's friend, you just have to add him on Facebook.

While I was living in England, I'd meet people from all over the world who said that American television helped them learn English. Thanks to YumSugar and her recent travels to China, I've realized that this is literally the case — with the help of Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, Ross and Rachel that is. Yum took this pic in a bookstore in Beijing, which displays the Friends English workbook and Friends computer program.

Vampire power month may be over (how appropriate that it was in October, no?), but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying to find ways to reduce our electric bills! We are living in a digital world, which means nearly everything needs to be juiced up to work. I've already got my laptop working overtime at the office and at home, so you can imagine that I'm a pretty powerful energy vampire on my own.

Although iChat allows me to video conference with up to three people at the same time, sometimes I just want to have an iChat party with more of my friends or family. Same goes for those who work from home and need to video with other co-workers in a conference. And with SuperIM, you can now video chat with up to 10 people.

Between Facebook, Twitter, email, texting, and every other form of online communication and networking, it seems like we're in constant contact with our friends at all times. But does the lack of face-to-face contact make us less social?
My initial reaction is to agree, but according to a new study, technology actually reduces social isolation.

What do George Lucas and the new Droid have in common? More than you'd think! I'm stoked to get my hands on the new device being offered up by Motorola to see if it really can top my iPhone, but when I got an invite to the San Francisco launch party I noticed something interesting at the bottom: the word "droid" is licensed to Lucasfilm LTD, which means Motorola pays a fee to the Star Wars icon to use his trademarked term.

I just read an article about Facebook's "reconnect" strategy — the newly implemented practice of featuring a friend you haven't interacted with in a while. They appear on the right side of the newly redesigned homepage. Facebook's explanation:
Facebook is only useful and relevant if you can connect with friends that matter to you.

Just in time for Movember, a friend just sent me the link to one of the funniest screen savers I've seen, the Screen Stache Saver.
Created by branding firm 160over90, the concept is simple: affix a fake mustache of your choice to the bottom of your computer monitor, download a folder of the eight screen saver images, and set the preferences on your computer to run a screen saver using the folder of images.
The result is a hilarious screen saver that features changing old-school-style photographs of men perfectly positioned to rock your monitor's mustache.

Available in stores today, Band Hero is Activision's latest game, which lets friends and family members rock out with their Guitar Hero instruments to favorites like "ABC" by the Jackson 5 and "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls. You can even sing along with other famous singers including country superstar Taylor Swift who performs some of her most popular hits like "Love Story," "You Belong With Me," and "Picture to Burn."
Here's some footage from the making of the Band Hero commercial, which includes mini-interviews with Taylor and her musical heroes including Travis Barker, and Pete Wentz.
