Space Invaders Dress Invades the FCUK Store

A little Space Invader does a body good, right? So last night I'm out doing some shopping, and what appears in the corner of my eye in the French Connection store? A sexy T-shirt style, ivory dress adorned with video game goodies - lasers and aliens from Space Invaders! I honestly stood there for a moment, rationalizing the fact that if I can spend $200 on a cell phone, I can surely drop $158 for one of the most geeky-fabulous dresses I've ever laid eyes on! Alas, I couldn't convince myself that it'd be as "wedding-worthy" as I had hoped (what I was initially searching for, don't worry, guest not bride!), but if that price drops just one bit, she's all mine. The Designer Lego Dress Takes Geekery, Bravery

Disclaimer: I did not find this Lego Dress on ThinkGeek. I found it on a regular (and quite posh) shopping website by designer JC De Castelbajac, and you know . . . as geeky as its print inherently is, I quite like it.

Making it more wearable is the fact that it's a t-shirt dress in a cute shape - I could totally see it belted with some flat sandals, and you'd be party- or errand-ready. It's $135, which is semi-affordable for the brave Lego-loving souls who'd dare wear this in public.

Also, the multicolor blocks also just kind of look like a bold, graphic pattern that's still stylish, which you can't really say for the Space Invaders Print Dress at French Connection.

Would you sport this?

The retro Space Invaders have officially invaded everything - French Connection, your kitchen, and now they're in your drink, not just invading, but keeping it cool. How sweet of them!

The Space Invaders Ice Cube Trays ($8) look just like the pixelated aliens of video games past, and are ready to be cracked into a cool beverage at your next party.

Topshop to Provide an Atari Fashion Fix!

What's in the fashion designer water? Something geeky I presume, because first I saw that Space Invaders dress in French Connection (not even ThinkGeek!), then Chanel and Style.com created iPhone apps, and now this: Alice McCall is creating a line for Topshop that will incorporate prints inspired by Atari video games.

It'll premiere September 25th in Topshop stores, and let me tell you I cannot wait to rock my Pong ball gown, mmm kay?

Where Is the Strangest Place You've Seen WiFi?

While there are some people around Sugar HQ that have what Yum calls a "minor French fry problem," I'm not one of them. That might be the reason why it took me so long to notice the McDonald's across the street from the office offers a WiFi connection.

Once considered a luxury, WiFi is a near staple at this point. It's standard in American hotels, airports, new Virgin America planes and pretty much every other coffee shop, library and imaginable place with electrical outlets. But when is enough enough? I can't imagine sitting down in a McDonald's long enough to want to check my e-mail, let alone blog or do any kind of serious work.

I want to know, where is the strangest place, most unexpected place you've noticed a WiFi connection?
