Evernote launched its Android app nearly a year ago and now has rolled out the largest update to date for the free Android app.

Use this make-your-life-easier application to take notes and photos and record audio like before, but the latest version of the app features an updated home screen, better Google search integration, simpler sorting, and a major increase in speed. Premium users can select which notes to save and store for offline viewing, and users of the free app can update to premium status at any time from within the app. Check out all of the enhancements on the Evernote blog, and download the free app and update from the Android Market.

Geek Tip: Use Evernote to Track Your Spending

With all the holiday shopping you'll be doing over the next few weeks, you're bound to accumulate a ton of receipts. But instead of keeping them all in a shoebox you may forget about later, why not use this handy trick a friend of mine discovered to help her stay organized. I'm already a fan of EverNote, and although you can use its app on your Blackberry or iPhone to save notes, photos, and links you want to remember later, you can also use it to keep a digital copy of your receipts.

Just by taking a photo of your receipt and storing it in EverNote, you'll have a backup copy just in case anything happens to your original, or you just want to keep a running tally on your spending. This is also good for sending in those time-consuming expense reports - just photograph your receipts with a cell and send 'em on in! Best of all, you can access your info on your phone or home computer for later organizational reference.

Evernote App Available For BlackBerry Owners

Remember Evernote? The useful application that makes it easy to capture and save information and sync it with the web and all of your devices? Yes, it will make your life easier. Well Evernote announced today that Evernote for BlackBerry is now available through BlackBerry App World.

With this app, you'll be able to create notes with pics, voice recordings, file attachments, and notes containing text. It's now available to all Evernote users (membership is free) and works with BlackBerry's running OS 4.6 and higher. Currently supported devices include the Bold, Curve (8900 series), and the BlackBerry Storm.

I'm the queen of copying links, saving pics and text to access later. Now where I save all of these random goodies from the Internet is always a chore to find later - TextEdit, Google Docs, my desktop, delicious - you name it, I use it. So when I first discovered Evernote, a handy website that helps you save content from your computer or cell phone, I knew this could be my new BFF website. Evernote not only helps you easily capture memorable information, but you can easily organize it, tag it and search for it later, something I desperately need. There's even a new iPhone app so you can save stuff while on the go - and it will save audio as well (hello, to-do lists!).

6 Tips to Tackling Black Friday Like a Pro

There are some that may argue that Black Friday shopping is not for the faint of heart - only the biggest bargain hunters are up for shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. If you're eager to tackle the jostling crowds for big discounts, read on for tips on how to maneuver Black Friday sales like an expert:

Call your bank. First and most importantly, call your bank to see what the spending limit is and to inform them of potential unusual activity on those days. There's nothing like having your credit card frozen to ruin your shopping plans.

Check your bank balance. If you're the type to shuttle your money away every month to your savings fund and other money accounts, you might not have enough in your account for Black Friday shopping. Make sure that your bank balance reflects the amount you plan to spend. Transfers generally take up to three days if you're moving money around between different banks, so start preparing beforehand.

Be specific when you make a list. Don't look at any ads before making this list. Base your list off of what you really need, not what looks like a good deal. Be specific and don't write things like "buy something for mom." Maybe your luggage broke and you need a new one or you're hoping to buy mom a new blu-ray DVD player. If you really want to treat yourself, be specific with what you're going to buy yourself, too.

Scour deals online. Now that you have your list in hand, make sure you keep an eye out at the major stores to see if there are any good deals available online. Many stores are selling their Black Friday sales items online earlier than Friday. Who knows? Maybe you can even do all of your Black Friday shopping from home.
