Darth Vader Tattoo Design T-Shirt: Love It or Leave It?

Marc Ecko is really establishing himself as the mainstream go-to for Star Wars apparel, after having introduced the Boba Fett Hoodie and Storm Trooper Hoodie.

And he's not content to stop there. There's a whole SW shop up - with one of my favorite new pieces being this Darth Vader T-Shirt with a tattoo-inspired design ($34). It's sort of Ed Hardy meets Star Wars, and the intersection is so fun and kitschy, I think I might be into it.

It's definitely a way I've never seen Luke's father - but is that a good or bad thing?

Boba Fett Hoodie: Storm the Grocery Store

I have a sneaking suspicion that hoodie-type of girls are also Star Wars type of girls, which is good news for the maker of this Boba Fett Hoodie (although $98. . . seriously, Ecko?! What kind of rich nerds are you hoping to reach?).

Maybe put your boyfriend in this one, you in the Storm Trooper Hoodie, and just see what kind of looks you get toolin' around town running your errands.

Looks of fear, I'd assume.

Trend Alert: Caped Crusaders

I have one friend who always loved capes. She sported an awesome black vintage one in the dead of winter before they were even trendy - though they are sort of classic - and she looked immaculate. She would wear it with black skinnies and vintage shoes, to give the cape some street cred. So, for those not ready to be a caped crusader you can do as my friend did or go minimal like at Jil Sander. Or, you can make up a mysterious look all your own - always encouraged.

Just hearing the word "sales" can stir people up in a frenzy, especially during a holiday weekend. But just because something is discounted during a holiday weekend doesn't always necessarily mean it's actually a good deal. Dealnews, a site that scours the web for the best deals, gives the lowdown on the best and worst deals to expect this Memorial Day weekend.

Best Deals:

Apparel. Spring apparel will be on sale and if you use a holiday sales coupon on top of the discounted price, you'll find plenty of great deals. You'll also see discounts that will let you take an extra 30 to 50 percent off, says dealnews. Some clothing retailers that had great deals last year include Perry Ellis, Last Call Neiman Marcus, and ShopEcko.
Home goods. Home goods are another sector to keep an eye out for. Last year, Designer Living, Pottery Barn, and West Elm had some of the best sales, so keep an eye on these brands.

Worst Deals:

Electronics.Memorial Day is not the best time to buy electronics - dealnews calls it an "awkward period" for electronic goods.
Summer-specific deals. Summer's about to start, which means less discounts for Summer-related goods. Items like patio furniture and grills will go on sale later on in the season, so wait for it!
