Would You Pay More For Designer 3D Glasses?

3D glasses are fantastically fun, but there's next to nothing fashionable about them. At a recent 3D Entertainment Summit (read: geekfest!) word got out that plans are in the works for designer and prescription glasses with lenses compatible with Real D 3D.

While some might scoff at the idea, naysayers will have to admit most 3D glasses make movie watching awkward and even painful. There's no word whether designer glasses would cost more, but if popcorn prices are any indication, I'd guess theaters will try and make a buck on the stylish shades. Would you pay more for designer 3D glasses if you were on a movie date or seeing a flick in the same place as the president?

Fashion Designer Themes Coming to All Windows Phones

Microsoft must have taken a cue from fashion designer Vivienne Tam, who just announced another new fashionable clutch netbook, because the company is now mixing high fashion with tech thanks to their newest collection of designer themed custom palettes and wallpapers for Windows phones.

On Oct. 6, customers with Windows Mobile 6.5 devices will be able to download fashionable themes from designers including: Diane von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, Isaac Mizrahi, Rock & Republic, and Ron Arad.

These new themes will be available for free from the Windows Marketplace.

Vivienne Tam and HP Collaborate on a Netbook Once Again

Vivienne Tam is starting a trend, and it goes beyond her amazing fashion designs. At last year's Fashion Week, Vivienne Tam unveiled a designer HP Mini 1000 that I instantly fell in love with, and at this weekend's Spring 2010 show, she did it again.

The newest designer netbook clutch comes in a feminine gold and butterfly finish, inspired by the Chinese story of the "Butterfly Lovers", which is a beautiful tale of freedom, romance and inspiration. Here's what she had to say about her new clutch and clothing collection:

"I’m excited to partner with HP again on a new design that truly embodies my inspiration for the new spring collection. When women around the globe carry HP’s digital clutch and wear my clothes, I want them to feel beautiful and confident."

As with other fashionable tech finds we've seen this week, there have been no pricing details released for Vivienne's netbook clutch, but we should expect to see it in stores next Spring.

Do You See What I See? It's a Designer Pac Man Dress!

I had learned from Fab that fashion designer Giles Deacon had incorporated some intense geeky Pac Man headgear during his London Fashion Week runway show, but I had no idea that such a dress like this existed - stop the presses!

After my run in with the Space Invaders dress at the FCUK store, it became apparent to me that video game graphics on sexy designer dresses wasn't that taboo, and that it was actually kinda sexy.

This sparkly couture Pac Man dress features the key elements from the popular arcade video game, including the ghosts and Pac Man himself. Now get some cherries on there, and this geek would have to add one to her ever-growing wish list!

Don't Have Four Grand For an Hermès Bag? Download One!

Look, I don't have time to be on any sort of waiting list (unless Nintendo or Apple release something else, then we're talking) or, you know, the $4,000+ it takes to have a real Kelly or Birkin bag by Hermès.

Turns out that it's a good time to be a geek, because high-end designers are recognizing their wired admirers - the other day, Chanel released their own app, and now Hermès wants you to have your own low-budget Kelly - by downloading it!

If you're down with papercrafts but wish your crafts ended up more Upper East Side than the monsters from Gobeesta, then download this from Hermès' website by clicking "I want it" (of course you do). Proceed as you would any papercraft - that is, cut, glue/tape, and then color to your heart's desire. Look at you - a free, custom Hermès!

Lulu Castagnette Attempts to Make Kid-Friendly Phone

I know kids are totally tech savvy nowadays, but cell phones that look like crib accessories are not my cup of tea. French mobile company Sagem has teamed up with fashion designer Lulu Castagnette to create these My411C model phones, which are being targeted to kids and women - since when is a teddy bear representative of both of these groups? IntoMobile explains that it's not only the exterior that is raising eyebrows, but the features are also lacking as well, as there is nothing unique or special to write home about. Lets just hope this basic phone isn't priced at designer rates.

Patent Leather Laptop Sleeve: Love It or Leave It?

This Abby Patent laptop sleeve by Lauren Merkin (a cool emerging designer) reminds me a lot of the oversized clutch trend - the foldover closure makes it look like it's holding your going-out essentials instead of your laptop.

Usually I buy sleeves to put inside a bag, but this one could be comfortable carried on its own. But I worry that the scalloped edge and black patent would get old fast.

It's also available in a metallic version and is $150, down from $225. So what's the verdict?

If you hold out it will come: After a disappointing showing from the new Kindle cases, I was feeling pretty uninspired by gadget bags and cases. Well, the geek accessory Gods are smiling on us, because Stella McCartney's line for LeSportsac has gone live, with a lot of pretty and posh options for laptops and cameras (currently available for pre-order) . The line is priced $120 to $325, which is pricey, but more reasonable than most Stella McCartney offerings. Also making it worth it: They're all made of 100 percent recycled eco polyester. Designers at Armani, Prada, and Gucci aren't the only fashion-forwarded types to realize geek is chic - Stella McCartney has an amazing Losina Patent Camera Bag, that's a real cut above the usual camera tote. The bag measures 11 inches wide by 7 inches (it's also 6 inches deep, so it's perfect for those of us who use an SLR camera) and is covered with silver metal accents. The front of the bag has a hidden slot pocket behind the buckle/belt treatment, with a secure magnetic closure. Stella is a strict vegetarian so the bag is actually fabric covered with a patent finish. It's on sale for $400 (down from $1,235). Hey Santa? Is it too late to add this to my list? I promise I've been a very good girl.
