Well, it started with chat rooms, then online dating, then destigmatized online dating, then further legitimized Facebook hookups so can we really be surprised that Japanese girls are all over the latest web love trend: The Virtual Boyfriend?
The just-launched Webkare is a social networking site in Japan — aimed solely at young women — that encourages its members to flirt with and capture the hearts of the virtual boyfriends available. Five days after it was announced, over 10,000 users joined up to try their hand at virtual dating.

Kathy Griffin was on the Today Show yesterday to promote the A-List Awards, but what was more interesting was when Kathy talked about her relationship with her very tech-famous ex-boyfriend, Steve Wozniak (he rides a Segway! LOL!).
They're no longer dating, and Kathy mentioned that he'd since met someone and became engaged.

The pain of a breakup is already a lot to take, and when you add the separation of home technology, well, it's just the image of a broken home that breaks my heart. Though there wasn't too much to lament in the big breakup of Heidi and Spencer, in the latest episodes of The Hills, there's a reference to the separation of their gadgets. Who can forget that sad, surgically-enhanced pout Heidi made when she and Spencer fought over who bought the 42-inch TV and who bought the 50?

On Thursday, Facebook will be announcing the launch of Little Black Book, a new way for Facebook users to connect with Match.com daters.
According to The New York Times, once people are signed up to this new service, the users of Little Black Book will receive potential matches from Facebook users and non-Facebook users who are signed up with Match.com—try saying that ten times!
Considering the fact that I'm still peeved about Beacon, I'm going to keep my distance from Facebook for awhile.

When DearSugar asked readers if they would date online, 51 percent said "Yes, why not? I don't want to exclude the possibility of meeting someone online." According to the New York Times, an increased amount of single parents are using online dating as a means to meet new people.
