I love to customize! From getting my BlackBerry engraved at the TechCrunch/Popsugar shindig in LA, to downloading some pretty wild wallpaper to bring out my inner animal and make me feel at home while I'm at the office. I do all I can to show my personality and prevent desktop boredom, even when it comes to my gadgets, which is why I switch it up and get down with cool (and free!) desktop icons through Iconfactory. The good news is that they're both Mac and PC friendly, and if you haven't checked them out, head on over - they have tons of cool icons to download and use to customize your virtual space on your computer. Now that I've grown accustomed to my BlackBerry Pearl's user-friendly interface and colorful homepage, I couldn't imagine using my old black/grey screened Nokia again.

Website of the Day: Customer Service Scoreboard

This one is pretty self-explanatory, but oh-so helpful: Customer Service Scoreboard gives you the overall score of some of the most used customer service lines around to see how they stack up. For example, if I would have checked this site before I called AT&T to complain about service interruptions last week, I would have been prepared for their less-than-stellar customer service - they have 29 negative comments and only 7 positive, leaving them with a total score of 48.31 out of 200. Come on AT&T - you can do better!

Since this is a crowd-powered site, you gotta put in your positive and negative comments just like you would if you were Yelping a restaurant. So don't just sit back and read the site, let's get to work!

Geek Tip: Email Comcast Corporate For Cable and Internet Help

Last month I suffered the ultimate geek distress - an Internet and cable outage for over a week.

It inspired me to air my frustrations here, and the silver lining of the whole situation is that someone at Comcast saw my post and responded with a tip: if you're ever feeling like you're getting nowhere with the customer service on the phone, you can email the corporate team for assistance.

The corporate email address is We_Can_Help@cable.comcast.com. After my first problem was resolved, I used the corporate email address to get help with something else, and received a prompt reply, as well as a fix to a problem I'd had for a while.

Also, just writing an email definitely beats going through an automated menu for 15 minutes, only to repeat the same information to the customer service rep that you just punched in to four previous menus. Ugh.

The John Mayer Customized BlackBerry Curve

Most of us think of ingenious ways to personalize our cell phones, whether it be with a hip case or funky cell phone charm. Then there are those that take personalizing to the extreme by laser tattooing their gadgets. Meet the Zino, a New Miniature Desktop From Dell

The Dell Inspiron Zino HD is the latest colorful release from the PC company.

Slightly bigger than a Mac Mini, the Zino starts at $230, and runs on Microsoft's Windows Vista. It's a Dell, so there are many options for customization; 10 interchangeable lids change its color and design; other options include a Blu-Ray player, up to 8GB of memory, and up to a 1TB hard drive.
