I'm accustomed to seeing computer keys that are transformed into pieces of jewelry - like the glass tile key pendant and the computer key rings - but Shift Key Earrings with blue hearts? Wow, now that's a combo! Brought to you by Etsy user thelovelyteaspoon, these 2.5-inch long earrings will definitely turn heads, but I don't think they'd look particularly geek-chic on my head. A young pre-teen would be the perfect candidate for rocking these, and for only $7, who cares if she loses one!

I was already smitten with this Next Generation Computer Key Necklace when I first laid eyes on it, but then when I learned it was a glass tile pendant with a silver computer key attached to it, I loved it even more. Brought to us by Etsy seller Capitolagirl, these made-to-order necklaces are available in whatever letter you would like and come with an 18-inch black seed bead and silver bugle bead chain. Talk about a great geek gift! And they're only $29 each!

Computer Key Shirt: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

I've seen a lot of geeky tees in my day, but I've never before seen such a Geek-key tee! Oh, I kill me!

But seriously. Check out this Computer Key Shirt ($26) from Etsy. I like you too much to make a pun about wearing your geekiness on your sleeve (but not enough to spare you from my geeky-key joke, snap), but you get the idea.

You want to know what the weirdest thing about this shirt is? I don't hate it. The grays the artist chose for the tees are very chic and complement the industrial grays of the keys. Don't know if I'd wear it to a party, but the execution could have been worse.

What do you think? Too cute or too dorky for words?

Good Idea/Bad Idea: USB Card Swiper For Online Shopping

Online shopping just got a whole lot easier - or more dangerous, depending on your shopping self-control (personally, I identify a little too well with a certain fictional character).

The SmartSwipe USB Card Reader ($87) plugs into your computer's USB port, and from there, when you want to check out at an online store, you swipe your card, just like you'd do at a department store counter.

SmartSwipe's main selling point is in its security - but the fact that you don't have to key in your credit card number makes an online impulse purchase way too easy. I want this - but think it's a bad idea for me.

What about you - is the SmartSwipe Card Reader a good idea or a bad idea for you?

Your Keyboard and Mouse: The Germiest Things on Your Desk

Yuck! This month's Marie Claire pinpoints the dirtiest things on your desktop, and what were at the top of the list?

Your mouse, at 846 germs per square inch, and your keyboard, at 719.

It's not that shocking considering that these are the two things you constantly have your hands on all day (minus points if you, like me, ever eat at your desk). And if you ever sneeze or cough with your hand over your mouth while sitting at your computer, you can't always get up and wash your hands right away - but the polite move of covering your mouth just became a germ-spreader when you put that hand back on your mouse and keys.

Are you a little bit leery to click and type now? Bust out some baby wipes and use my other gadget cleaning tips and keep your area germ free!

Do you have a netbook? Do you want one? Well if you're on the market for a mini computer, you're going to need a sleeve for that baby. Mostly 'cause we all know that since you can fit it in your purse, it's gonna get thrashed in there with your wallet, keys, MP3 player, and whatever else you stuff in your bag.
