Colorware Now Available For the iPhone 3G!

As geeked out as I was when Steve Jobs first announced the iPhone 3G and the new colors, I still remember feeling a little let down that we only got to choose from a black or white option, as exciting as those colors may be. Since my pulse quickened when I read the rumor that there may be a red iPhone, I knew I wouldn't be satisfied with the Oreo-color option for long!

Thankfully, Colorware, those artists who custom-color your gadgets (check out this pink BlackBerry Curve a TeamSugar user had "colorwared"), has just announced that they are ready to start colorwaring the iPhone 3G! Looking at the images on the site, I'm in love - and deciding what will go best with my Fall wardrobe!

Custom-Colored Cell Phones: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Starting next Monday Colorware, the color-customizing gadget experts will be coloring BlackBerry curves, pearls and 8800 series cell phones. Colors that are already posted on the site include red, purple, green and yellow and although the prices aren't posted, The Boy Genius Report guesstimates that they shouldn't be more than $99. Do you like these colored phones? Would you ever get your phone "colorized"?

So instead of covering your new nano with a blue plastic case, you can order it directly from ColorWare in whatever hue you want. With about twenty-nine standard colors to choose from and thousands of color combinations, you are guaranteed to have a unique Apple nano, iPod touch, iPod or iPhone. Usually I wait until I get sick of the manufacturers color before I buy a new bright case, so I don't know if this is something I'd go for. But then again, the idea of having a turquoise and purple iPhone is kinda fun. Wondering what the price differentiation is? Well to give you an idea, an 8GB iPod Touch costs $299 from Apple, whereas a customized iPod Touch from ColorWare costs $395. But then again, it does come personally designed by you!

The Hard Shell of Pinkness

If you're like me and think Colorware is pretty adorable but balk (and by balk I mean loudly declaring "Aw, hell no!") at the prices, then I have a great alternative. InCase has been making its hard case for a while now - and now the hard case comes in pink! It not only protects your MacBook like a case when you're toting it around, but you can use the computer when it's on too, so the white MacBook really does becomes your blank canvas!

I think it's just as cute as Colorware, and it's only 50 bucks. Incase seems pretty in favor of pink gadget accessories lately, but I think the hard case is the cutest. Don't fear the pink.

Guitar Hero Guitars - Now In Pink!

Guitar Hero has just gotten a whole lot sexier thanks to Colorware's customizable color options for your guitar! When I spotted this pink version on Shiny Shiny I realized that my black and white guitar needed a serious makeover (and the stickers just have to go). Colorware can color your Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 guitars, whatever your fancy, with prices starting at $99. And to get your fretboard or buttons colored it will cost you $10 extra. I love the pink buttons, but I don't think I'll be able to keep my game up (especially my one-on-one rock out sessions with Slash) without my colored keys - is that considered cheating?!
