I'm a total DIY freak, and appreciate websites that help me reach my crafting goals. Take my last DIY project: the charging station I made from an Ikea shelving unit. Now if I wanted to take that a step further, I could add some decorative fabric to the back panels and really make the shelf pop. But how do I find the right fabric? I could browse racks of fabric at my local craft store, or I could do it the easy way (without leaving the warmth of my computer) and hit up More Cloth.

This site works seamlessly with Etsy to lead you to your perfect fabric. First it offers up a ton of color schemes to choose from (like in the photo to the right), and then directs you to the exact fabric patterns that contain those colors. Finally, More Cloth shoots you over to the Etsy page where you can add your chosen fabric to your cart, and prep your craft room accordingly - just sit back and wait for your fabric to arrive!

Sometimes a girl just needs a little help with picking out a palette. Whether it be for your home, your website, your wedding, whatever, ColorJack can help. Similar to Colourlovers, ColorJack helps you find colors that work together so you can stop worrying if a certain hue of purple clashes with your favorite color of pink and get down to business. Just move the dots around the color wheel to get six different (but totally workable) color options, and you're ready to export your palette to Illustrator or Photoshop, or save it as a web link for reference.

Color Me Happy: Benjamin Moore's Paint-Matching iPhone App

When I painted my apartment last year, I went with Benjamin Moore paint because they seem to have the most vibrant colors and the paint is high quality too. And now they want to make that vibrancy accessible - iPhone-accessible.

The new ben Color Capture iPhone App (which will be available in the App Store on June 1 for free) lets you take a photo of anything you're around, and the app will show the closest matching colors in the Benjamin Moore catalog - there are over 3,300, so it should be easy to get a pretty dead-on match.

Shake the phone when your matches come up, and it'll give you coordinating colors for your new palette, and once you're convinced these are your home's new hue, it'll use the phone's GPS to find the nearest retailers with the Moore paint.

How's that for decorating on the go?

Website of the Day: Colorstrology

So I haven't checked my horoscope in ages, but that doesn't mean I'm not kind of curious. Add the fun of astrology to the Pantone color chart and you get today's website of the day: Colorstrology.

Click into the chart to pick the month and date of your birthday, and Colorstrology will give you your specialized horoscope and recommended color you should wear/use as your muse (the most important part). I'm apparently supposed to wear sheer lilac; what about you?

Do You Prefer Colored Gadgets, or Just Colored Cases?

I freak out when a new color of a gadget gets here, because it's just totally fun to see a familiar object rendered in a cool new hue - like the metallic silver option for the Nintendo DS that you can now get in the US!

I like having the option of getting to pick the color when I'm make the purchase later. I take it so seriously, like the one time I had a car and got to choose what color would be driving me around. It's an extension of your accessories and the gadget itself (it's no doubt why custom Colorware is popular).

On the other hand, there's a conservative part of me that likes basic-colored gadgets, that I can then use cases to temporarily change the color of the exterior. I'm a fashion lover, after all, so I like the variety and to be able to change it up with my outfits! For example, if the iPhone came out in red, I'd pass, choosing instead to sheath mine in pretty colored sleeves and cases.

But what about you - do you like getting a gadget in a different color, or do you like just changing its case for your color fix?

If A Little Color Goes A Long Way, Where's The Variety?

Note to designers and gadget manufacturers: Some of us are sick and tired of candy-colored MP3 players, cameras and cell phones.

Apple's announcement that the new iPod nano will come in silver, black, blue, green and red and the shuffle will come in silver, mint green, turquoise, lavender and magenta (those are my descriptions of the colors, not theirs!) got me thinking about the fact that almost all gadgets in the US are either staple colors like white, silver and black or bright - almost juvenile - hues of red, blue, pink and green.

Where, my friends, are all the fall colors like orange and yellow, or the muted, retro colors? I was scanning through a catalog for the Japanese mobile communication company KDDI and was floored by its amazing color selection for Toshiba, Panasonic and Casio phones. I'm not asking for a full array of pantone colored cell phones, I'd just like a little more variety. I know someone is spending millions of dollars on market research, but I just can't believe I am the only American who would prefer a "jewelry gold," "fresco orange" or "palmer brown" cell phone to sorbet colored ones?

Softbank Cell Phones Come In 20 Pantone Colors

Tired of monochrome cell phones that choose business over pleasure? If you live in Japan, you're in luck. Softbank has released a simple and sleek cell phone line (it looks like a slightly chunky RAZR) that showcases 20 of our favorite Pantone colors - from Pearl Pink, Mint Green, Beige, Gold to Metal Blue. The line is part of a popular "Tokyo Girls Collection," and seems to bank on the fact that most women like matchy-matchy outfits and bright colors. The Pantone revival seems to have started a few weeks ago with the release of Pantone mugs, so these phones are right on target.

The phone features Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera, "PC Site Browser," a button face featuring raised arc-ridge keys and a mobile ASV LCD for high-contrast images. The sub-display is capable of up to three lines of text, allowing quick confirmation of newly arrived email. No word on the costs, but for now US fans are out of luck anyway. And I could really use a dose of Vivid Pink.

Can you really put a price tag on joy? I say no cause that's exactly what I felt when I stumbled across these amazing Controller Ornaments. For a mere $25, you can have your own collection of gaming controllers that span decades - from Super NES to PS3 to Sega - so there's sure to be one that satisfies your inner gaming goddess. Sold as a set of seven, the acrylic ornaments come in four different colors, but without your string or hooks, so you'll have to fashion your own way of getting them on your tree.
