COACH Goes Mobile For the Holidays

Normally when I mention fashion designers releasing trendy new cell phones they usually include two things: a hefty price tag and Swarovski crystals. Well here's a little holiday treat for you - even if it is only coming to Japan - the limited edition branded Christmas edition cell phone from COACH. COACH, who isn't a complete stranger to the tech world, is teaming up with the Japanese cell phone company KDDI to offer this COACH handset, which will cost $200 for the cover and designer accessories (on top of the handset price). So maybe not the most inexpensive handset, but for COACH, it's not completely outrageous.

Coach Nylon Laptop Sleeve: Love It or Leave It?

Are "nylon" and "posh" mutually exclusive? I kind of thought so, until I saw the Varick Nylon Laptop Sleeve from Coach.

If your laptop is something you're taking to work, its lack of bright, bold pattern puts it in the more professional arena, and the luxe details like leather lining grow it up a little.

What do you think - is the black a nice, chic counterpoint to more crazy laptop sleeves, or is it just too plain to get you to spend $58?

Love It or Leave It? Coach Mouse Pad

I can usually appreciate luxurious designer gadgetry accessories like cell phone cases or camera bags for their quality and unique style - even if they are really expensive. I wouldn't say I'm feeling the same way about this Coach mouse pad.

Do You Like Designer Gadget Accessories?

A majority of you thought that the Louis Vuitton cell phone charm was way overpriced at $240. If you appreciate designer accessories and want something reasonably priced, feast your eyes on the signature stripe iPod case by Coach- which is only $88. I enjoy finding unique designer accessories for my iPod and cell phone because they are just that - unique (and they're even better on sale!). Testing Out the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach

In my opinion, achieving a sense of general well-being includes three vital components: incorporating a balanced and nutritious diet into your lifestyle, getting regular exercise, and getting enough sleep. Not surprisingly, most people are lacking in one or all of these areas, which is why I am thrilled to tell you about this new device that acts as your personal sleep coach - because we all know if we don't get enough sleep, diet and exercise tend to be the last things on our minds.

Based on academic articles within sleep science and designed in conjunction with sleep scientists, the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach is a four-part system which includes a headband, a bedside display, an interactive website, and a seven-step sleep fitness program. Its purpose is to measure your sleep patterns and give you tools to help improve your sleep by educating you on how you're actually sleeping. It's not some magical sleep doctor in a box, but it is pretty cool.

If you're already thinking, "Huh?" let me explain. The way it works is you wear the wireless headband to bed, and with its sensor technology, your sleep patterns will be tracked and transmitted to your bedside Zeo clock. You can see me wearing the headband below - it's really not that bad once you get used to it, just make sure on your first night you're really tired and it's the weekend so you can slowly adjust!

After a night of wearing the headband (it fell off my first night, although I learned I could pull my ponytail right through the back strap), you can read the bedside display to see a sleep graph which summarizes your pattern of sleep phases each night (like total amount of REM, and light, and deep sleep, which is broken down into hours, minutes, and percentages), and your ZQ score. I think the best part of this entire trial run was the excitement of waking up to read the graph - and check out my ZQ score, naturally! It's funny because my highest score (usually around 110) would be on the weekends (they say your ZQ can range from 0-120). The fact that I was completely tuckered out from the week before, and relaxed because it was the weekend, made for some ideal sleeping conditions.

Zeo also comes with a SD memory card that will load all of the info from your headband onto it (when you dock your headband), which you can then upload onto your computer to your web-based personal sleep account. The Zeo's seven-step fitness program will then analyze your sleep patterns and lifestyle (like exercise, diet, stress, and environment), and recommend techniques, tools, and tips to address the issues that may be affecting your sleep. The program is intended to be completed within eight to 12 weeks.

The Zeo also includes a neat feature called the SmartWake Alarm which will look for a moment when you transition into and out of REM sleep when the brain is highly active. Therefore Zeo may wake you as early as half an hour before your set wake-up time, but it will never wake you up later than your actual alarm time. Because the Zeo costs $399, you'll be happy to know that this is one fancy schmancy alarm clock. Even if you're not using the headband, the alarm clock itself includes settings to adjust its brightness, and it offers relaxing alarm sounds to make the wake-up process a little less startling.

Overall, I give the Zeo a nice four out of five stars. As I said, it's not some magical sleep doctor that's going to cure insomniacs or people with major snoring issues, but it is going to educate you on your sleep style and give you some helpful suggestions for improving your sleep. Note to self: no more gadgets in the bedroom!

Love It or Leave It? Coach's Signature Treo Case

Its not everyday I find a stylin' geek chic Palm Treo case, so when I saw this authentic Coach case I just had to share. This case features Coach's Signature jacquard fabric in khaki with leather accents, polished nickel hardware and a wrist strap with the infamous dogleash clip. Compatible with Treo 700p, 700w, 700wx, 650 smartphones only (although I'm sure you could squeeze a BlackBerry pearl into it hehe). Remember when I showed you the signature stripe iPod case by Coach? Well just like the iPod case, which was only priced at $88, this Treo case is fairly affordable as well with a price tag of $50. Now when I say affordable, I mean a decent price for a designer gadget accessory. Do you love it?

Get Your Own Weight Loss Coach for Your DS

Although Wii Fit has been the big hitter for exergaming this year, it may have a new companion to help you tackle those unwanted pounds. My Weight Loss Coach even comes with a pedometer for you to wear and track your daily steps (Fit says we're aiming for 12,000 here). Then at the end of the day or week, connect to your DS to record your stats. Plus with an included food journal, you can achieve the whole burn-more-cals-than-we-take-in thing. What's more, with the childhood obesity rate climbing, My Weight Loss Coach seems friendly enough for kids to use. Personally, I don't have any issue with games helping me stay fit, cause the day is long and hard enough as it is and every little bit helps! Wouldn't you agree?

Games Can Get You In Shape For the Big Day Too!

I guess it's a rite of passage that you freak out before your wedding - whether it's over the flower arrangements, the cake, or your body. Although you should never stoop to crash dieting (I know Fit would tell you the same), it may actually help you to chill out by playing a video game. Bonus, if those games are interactive and get your blood pumping, you might just lose a few pounds while you're at it and tip the scales in your favor.

We all know what a workout you can get by playing Dance Dance Revolution, right? While having a blast matching your foot movements with the beat, in one hour you could be burning up to 900 calories! Not to mention, it might help you learn a few moves for the reception.
