Polaroid Beach House: Another Geeky Celeb Spot

When I think of Polaroid, I think of Polaroid cameras, which at this point have a vintage geek following, but the company is doing its darndest to promote their other products and has jumped on the celebrity beach house bandwagon.

The company has created a lavish $30 million dollar beachfront estate where celebrities and VIPs can enjoy tech toys, private dinner parties, exclusive events, BBQs, clambakes, and beachside activities.

Like the LG Beachhouse, the Polaroid Beach house is located on "the most exclusive stretch of beach in Malibu," and is completely decked out with with the company's TVs and gadgets. The house is decorated by the designers at west elm and features the company's home furnishings and accessories - such as bedding from west elm's new Pure Organic collection and comfy Walton sectional pieces with lots of glam mirrored side tables. It also features a gaming room outfitted with the latest Polaroid LCD TV's, sitting areas with the newest large flat screens and loads of outside space for celebrity photoshoots.

Polaroid has opened the house up for stars like Eva Mendes, Kate Bosworth, Courteney Cox Arquette, Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo DiCaprio and the cast of Entourage. If only we were so lucky.

Carrie Underwood Celebrates Her New Album With a Glamour Cover

Carrie Underwood went bright in a Rochas dress for the cover of Glamour's June issue. She's promoting her new album Blown Away, out today, and the accompanying tour, which kicks off at the end of the month. Carrie's getting back to music after taking a break to settle into married life with husband Mike Fisher. The singer talked to the publication about life with Mike, how they handle fame, and her first big splurge. Here's more from Carrie Underwood in Glamour:

On her first big purchase after finding fame: "My first stupid purchase was an accident. I was in Paris and went into one of those big, name-brand, fancy-schmancy designers, and I picked up a sweatshirt. Maybe I didn't understand the price tag. I'm really bad with numbers. But when I went to check out, that sucker was $2,000. I've worn it twice."
On staying grounded: "But my husband came from a small town and hardworking parents like I did, and I don't think we've lost that mind-set. We don't have a bowling alley in our basement. We don't have houses on the beach and one in New York and one in LA. I drive a three-year-old Ford Escape Hybrid. We don't care about stuff like that."
On her relationship with Mike: "A plus is, he knew what to expect. In Canada he was a big celebrity, so he knows what it's like living under a microscope. And he travels a lot, which is good for both of us. We're both independent people, so we can't have somebody around 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The drawback is that we can go weeks without seeing each other. But he's the only guy I've never had to worry about."

Jessica wasn't the only star with an exciting weekend, since Elizabeth attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington DC on Saturday. Prince William and his wife Kate spent the last week together on vacation with her family in Mustique. The couple spent a few days on the West Indies island with her sister Pippa, brother James, and parents Michael and Carole. William apparently met up with the group after the Middletons started their fun. He arrived, however, ahead of the celebrations for Carole Middleton's 57th birthday. The Middletons' getaway included plenty of beach time and group lunches by the water. The girls were able to wear bikinis and sit in the sun, while James snapped photos from his deck chair. William and Kate stayed at Aurora House, a retreat owned by their friend Mark Cecil, according to reports.

William, Kate, and Pippa wrapped things up and left Mustique for the Hewanorra airport in nearby St. Lucia, where they caught a British Airways flight. They headed back to London so William could prepare for his deployment to the Falkland Islands. He was scheduled to begin a six-week tour of duty Wednesday. Along with other pilots, William will be tasked with manning search-and-rescue helicopters.

The two girls were back home in California just in time to celebrate the milestone after a stint on the East Coast, where Halle shot New Year's Eve. Nahla's dad, Gabriel Aubry, even joined the girls in Manhattan so he could hang out with their little one while Halle was on the set of the romantic comedy.

The stylist-turned-designer chilled on lounge chairs with her pal Marc Jacobs, who was appropriately decked out in gear and towels from the design house he oversees, Louis Vuitton. Marc's possibly on-again love interest Lorenzo Martone showed his loyalty in a pair of LV-designed swim trunks. Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon was also there decked out in a red two-piece for the afternoon on the sand. Tamara actually left Choo in November and is reportedly seeking to launch another exclusive label. She and her daughter Minty are celebrating the big changes on vacation together. Tamara shared on Twitter that the girls have been stuffing themselves with crepes.

The holiday is also a family gathering for Rachel, whose husband Rodger Berman joined in on the sandy fun. Their young son Skyler came along too, and he was ready for the sun in an adorable white hat. Rachel's wrapping up her holiday vacation in the Caribbean. She's sharing well-wishes with fans, and tweeted yesterday, "Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and most glamorous 2012 from paradise."
