Every few months, it seems there's a new study saying that cell phones do or don't cause cancer. Today, they're saying it does. The new study is from a Pittsburgh doctor, warning folks to limit their use because of a possible link between cell phones and cancer.

Look, I am totally mature. But I still teeheeheed at this CD and case, although what it actually is is no laughing matter.

It only makes sense that daytime talk-show host Kelly Ripa — a self-proclaimed iPhone addict — is teaming up with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund to help raise awareness during Ovarian Cancer Month with a text-a-thon!
Throughout the rest of the month, Kelly will be encouraging people to help fund research for a cure by donating money by either texting "Kelly" to 85944 or by visiting Kelly Confidential.
I'm sure Kelly will keep us posted on the text-a-thon progress via her new favorite microblogging site — Twitter!

As you probably already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is the time of year companies typically release limited edition pink devices as a way of showing support and giving back to breast cancer research.
I've shared the special edition pink shuffle from Target as well as the pink Sony Vaio (seen at right) with you, but I figure there are plenty of other limited edition gadgets and gizmos out there that I haven't seen yet.
I'd like to put together a list of the best Breast Cancer Awareness gadgets on the web and I need your help.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is almost here, and with that, there's always pretty-in-pink gadgets to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. We debuted the Pink Ribbon DS Lite this morning, and now Sony is getting in on the action for the second year in a row with pink laptop bundles. The Sony VAIO CR pack includes a 14.1-inch LCD screen, a Core 2 Duo CPU, a built-in DVD burner, and a matching case and mouse, while the VAIO SR comes with a 13.3-inch LED backlit display and up to 320GB of HDD space.

There's a rift between pink gadget lovers and haters. Most of us hate when manufacturers use rosy hues in a lame, 18th Century attempt at attracting attention from females, but then again, some pink gadgets are just plain cute.
Pink also happens to be the color of Breast Cancer Awareness and as the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, retailers across the country, including Sony VAIO, are joining the fight to find a cure for breast cancer by creating special editions of some of their bestselling products.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Canon is increasing pink awareness with their Canon Pink Bundle ($280), which features a PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH camera, and the SELPHY CP760 Compact Photo Printer, both in a pink melody hue. You'll also get a pink ribbon charm and a mammogram reminder magnet to help promote their pink campaign. What I love about this pink product bundle is the fact that you can print your pics from the cam, without having to connect to a computer — just pop in your memory card to preview, display and print!

I have a love-hate relationship with the color pink, especially on my gadgets. I like sporting the color on occasion, but I don't like how tech manufacturers think that women only like their gadgets glossed in the feminine hue. Thankfully, I can totally get behind the pink ribbon movement that supports breast cancer research, and subsequently use it as an excuse to buy another DS.
