Geeky camera jewelry generally falls in one of several categories: over-the-top geeky, sweet and kitchy, or maybe priced higher than an actual camera. I'm still undecided about this funky Camera Obscura Necklace ($14) from ModCloth, but I dig the idea of wearing what you love on your sleeve. Or in this case around your neck.

One great thing about being a photography buff who's also a lady? You can rock camera jewelry while you're snapping away (although some of this stuff is really unisex). Check out my favorite pieces of jewelry that are inspired by the shutter.

I am all for wearing gadgets as jewelry — well, mini versions anyway, like these Mini Camera Earrings. They're only 12 bucks and are a might more polished in silver than these Wooden Camera-Shaped Earrings.
Are you whimsical enough to rock these?

Here's a novel idea. Take a used camera lens, reshape it, polish it and voila, a beautiful piece of wearable geeky jewelry.
Camera expert Craig Arnold has created a line of bracelets entitled "Re:vision," which come in eight different models with different names pertaining to each.

As much as I love geeky necklaces, I know they are not all that wearable. However, there are a handful of normal-looking geeky baubles out there, and I would say that if you were going to rock one, these plastic Camera Necklaces ($10) would do just fine. Kitschy, yes; cheesy, no.

I'm not typically the kind of girl who is drawn to Tiffany & Co., but when they make such a geeky item, it's an obvious play for my affections!
This Camera Charm Bracelet is 18-carat gold with a little diamond for the lens — that actually rotates. Way too rich for my blood though — $1,500 for the charm alone, and another $1,500 for the chain.

It doesn't have to end! Even though Polaroid's days as a photography option are waning, we don't have to place it firmly in the past. Wear the memories around your neck with this Polaroid Charm Necklace ($15)!

Although this ring is a gold miniature camera, I actually don't find it to be that tacky, especially when you take into consideration all the other oversized rings some people wear. This retro style Hot Shot camera ring is an exclusive Fred Flare design that fits all sizes and measures about half an inch. For $10 the gold accents obviously won't be real, but wouldn't it be fabulous if the lens was a diamond?

- When it comes to gadget caboodles no two are alike. Some are simple, some are cluttered, some are serious and some, like this one from Rachelface seem to combine fun, serious and cute all into one.

I've been really into geeky jewelry lately, but I have an offering that's neither as prim as a Tiffany camera charm, nor as cutesy as a sterling silver cell phone charm.
More likely to be seen on a naughty secretary, the 9-5 Necklace is a lot more funk, a little bit punk, and way less pricey. Those of you who took issue with the yellow gold of the Tiffany charm can maybe warm to it on this piece, since it's only $60.
