Will You Download Google's New Chrome Browser?

Dilemma! What's a Google-devoted but equally Firefox-loving geek to do? When Google broke the news over the holiday weekend that they were releasing a new browser called Chrome, I was excited, but also a little guilty-feeling since I use and adore Firefox.

Google Chrome promises a faster and simpler interface, which sound great (the download is still only available to PC users, btw), but I'll have to play around a bit before I decide to make the switch. Considering that 65 percent said you were Firefox users in last year's browser poll, I assume many of you are also pretty content with Mozilla's browser. But the question begs to be asked - will you download Chrome's browser (that is, if you haven't already)?

You know me, I love to share tips, tricks, downloads, and news all day long, every day of the week, 24/7. I'm sharing right now as I type! You might even consider it an obsession.

So knowing that I could make it easier on myself when I want to submit links to my bookmarking or sharing sites like Digg, Reddit, and Twitter by using Shareaholic - an award winning Firefox add-on that works like a hub for all my social networking and bookmarking services. It sends out my favorite links in one shot without me having to copy or paste a thing.

Once you download Shareaholic, a green button appears on your browser, letting you customize which sites you want to send links to. When you come to a webpage you think is worthy, just click the green share button, select your service (i.e., StumbleUpon) and your link is copied and sent to the site for you, ready to submit. How easy is that?

After coming back from a short and sweet vacation last weekend, I had a ton of cool photos to upload to my Flickr account. Unfortunately, if you are uploading pics the classic way in Flickr - without a bulk uploader – I quickly found that it could become a long and time-consuming process! So I went on the hunt for a fast and easy Flickr uploader that I could use right from my browser. Very similar to Flock's awesome built-in Flickr Uploader, Firefox now has a version of its own called FotoFox.

Is It Wrong To Look At Your Partner’s Web History?

My boyfriend recently came into the living room and interrupted one of my wild crossword puzzle tangents asking me a much dreaded question: Do you still read your ex’s blog?
While the answer is yes, (who doesn’t? or wouldn’t?) I felt trapped. I hadn’t told any of our leaky-lipped friends I’d been keeping up on my ex’s new job and relationship via his painfully descriptive blog so visions of a hidden camera system and night goggles filled my head.

How had my boyfriend learned of my online sleuthing? He’d trolled through the browser history in search of a wet-suit manufacturer he’d found a week before and in his quest, "checked out" my recent page history. So, is it wrong or right?

How to: Export Your Bookmarks Before a Browser Breakup

Dealing with a faulty web browser that keeps crashing is like banging your head against a wall. You need it to surf the Internet, but you long to break free of all of its issues.

So if you've totally had it with your current browser (I'm talking about you, Firefox), but are afraid to separate due to your intricate organization of your bookmarks, don't be. You can export your bookmarks from whatever browser you're using now and install them on a new, fresh browser of your choosing. Best of all, you can do this in just three steps.

Open up the browser you want to export from. Click on File, and Export Bookmarks (if you're exporting from Firefox, you'll click on Bookmarks, Organize Bookmarks, then click on the export tab on the pop-up window), and save the HTML file to your desktop.
Next, open up the browser you want to import to, go to File, and Import, and select the HTML file you just saved (if you're importing to Flock, it will automatically detect which browsers you have available and import). You should find your file of imported bookmarks on your toolbar, or in your bookmarks menu.
Then, just drag and drop your bookmark folders where you want them to be on your toolbar and you're set to go!

I can honestly say I've been around the web browser block a few too many times. I've used just about everything, including Safari, Internet Explorer, Netscape and now predominately Firefox, which I absolutely love...most of the time. Back in the day early web browsers only supported simple versions of HTML (Netscape for example), whereas now they have become very sophisticated and user-friendly. Since I post a lot of downloads and applications for various browsers, it would be great to know what browser you use to surf the net. I love my BlackBerry, so very much, but since I'm blessed to have an iPhone as well, I try to avoid my BlackBerry's internet browser as much as humanly possible. The web browsing experience on my BB isn't nearly as chic and user-friendly as my iPhone, and most times, I just get irritated with it.

But thankfully there are downloads like Opera Mini, which make surfing the web that much more enjoyable on your cell phone. Geek Tip: Use MyStickies to Remember Why You Love a Webpage

And I'm sure you have a gazillion (that's a lot!) bookmarks of various web pages that you don't even remember what made you bookmark them in the first place. I know I do! Well, what if you could use those handy sticky notes on the web as a little reminder of what you liked about those sites - so you can get around those frequent brain farts?
