The mini speaker wristlet bags are back! When I mentioned them way back when, most of you were digging their retro hip style. . . except they quickly sold out and only came in aqua. Well now the MoMA store is rocking them in peach and royal blue hues ($25). For newbies to the boombox bag, it holds all of the essentials - cell phone, lip gloss, keys - and you can even hook it up to your iPod for personal jam sessions. When I first saw that this iSymphony Boombox was iPod compatible, I assumed that you could dock your iPod directly on it. Unlike standard docks, the top lid of this boombox opens so you can lay your iPod and a CD in the top of it- kinda like the music version of a DVD/VCR combo. Featured on 7Gadgets, the player is said to hold almost any MP3 device and comes with an AM/FM stereo. It definitely is one of the more stylin' portable 'ghetto blasters' I've feasted my eyes on. Choose from sleek black or chic white. Priced at $58 each.

Sony unveiled their latest clock radio and boombox at a special “Holidays in July” event held in New York yesterday and while the concept for both devices isn't revolutionary, the designs are sleek and certainly nightstand worthy. Both models will let you listen to your iPod or MP3 player without headphones.

Designed to work with most iPod models, the ICF-C1iP clock radio accommodates standard iPod adapters, but does not require their use. An adjustable backstop mechanism ensures that the iPod fits snugly and securely to the clock radio's 30-pin connector. An included wireless remote control provides full access to the iPod's menu, as well as to radio tuning and volume functions. It can also charge your iPod while it's docked and you're sleeping.

Just like the clock radio, the boombox works with most iPod models and charges the iPod when docked. It includes a built-in digital AM/FM tuner, an integrated CD player that supports CD-R/RW playback and a wireless remote control with full iPod menu access. The dock tray is retractable when not in use. The boombox also has an auxiliary input.

They will be available in August for about $100 at Sony Style stores, online at Sony Style and supports AC/DC operation.

I know, I know, it still might seem a bit early to be thinking about Christmas gifts, but after posting one cute iPod dock that would make a good stocking stuffer, I had to add this funky option to the list.

The Boombox Dock Speaker ($18) is compatible with most iPods and the iPhone, and is less than three inches long. It's totally retro and inexpensive - I love it!

Boombox iPod/iPhone Skin: Love It or Leave It?

I can't help but gravitate toward vintage gadgets (I am the founding member of the Vintage Geek group, you know), so mash-ups of old and new stuff is something I'm totally into.

This particular skin from Gelaskin ($15) tugged at my heartstrings, mostly because it reminded me of my first boombox that I carried around with me to sleepovers, my backyard, and even a few times to school (my teachers were not pleased with that last location).

I'm kinda digging this skin for my iPhone, but I'm not sure I could handle it taking up permanent residence there. What do you think?

Irresistible Retro-Style Stackable Lego Sound Gear

I have to admit, Urban Outfitters is doing a great job featuring fun, geeky gadgets! The latest are two awesome Lego-themed products: the Lego Stereo CD Boombox ($58) and the Lego Stereo Alarm Clock ($38).

The alarm clock features radio or buzzer alarm, AM/FM radio, and volume and tuning wheels on top. The boom box has a CD player and line in to connect your iPod. The cutest part? They're designed to stack - the alarm clock fits right on top of the CD player, just like real Legos.

Reppo II Boombox on Your Back: Cool, but Please Don't Get on the Bus With Me

I'm totally torn by the Reppo II Backpack boombox I saw on Yanko Design - on one hand, it's a cool hardshell design, white, great for hanging out outside with friends - but then I think about other people using them, and I can just imagine being beyond annoyed as I am reading my book with my headphones on David Lee Roth or what have you comes blasting into my little bubble. It happens now with people doing this with their cell phone speakers, and I want to tear my hair out!

So if you get the hot Reppo II, I caution you as I caution Long Island Ice Tea drinkers: Have fun, but be careful.

Hook It Up With the Cassette Tape USB Hub

I'm not sure if it's the fact that this Cassette Tape USB Hub is, well, a cassette tape that makes me a little bit excited, or if it's the fact that I can hook up four more peripherals to my machine when I need it. Having some extra ports can come in super handy when I'm rocking my stylish netbook and need to connect my camera and external hard drive at the same time. Or you know, to plug in my USB mini fridge to cool my Diet Coke. Whatever.

I could easily throw down the $15 or so that it takes to get my hands on this, mostly because I have an obsession with mixed tapes and old-school boomboxes.

Fi-Hi Boombox Bags Are Pure Bling

The latest line of speakers bags has just emerged on Born Rich and I have to say, they aren't all that bad (the black is tres chic, no?). These Fi-Hi Speaker Bags were spotted at CTIA in Vegas this past week and come equipped with the usual waterproof speakers and 3-watt stereo amplifier. Except this time, these bags have been designed with the fashionista in mind, unlike the star-covered AM/FM cooler bag. Hook em' up to your iPod or cell phone via the included minijack and with four AA batteries you'll be able to rock out for at least six hours straight. They are brand spanking new, so no word on pricing just yet . . . eat your heart out Gucci!

Totally Geeky or Geek Chic? Retro iPod tote

I have to admit I have a soft spot in my heart for retro bags, although I usually prefer more traditional designers. The iPod
tote with a MP3 phone/player design may be an exception because it's actually an FM radio with amplified stereo speakers and it totes your stuff around.

The speaker/tote combo allows you all the joy of totting a boombox on your shoulder without having to actually carry a boombox. Takes four AA batteries and for $60, you can't beat it.
