When the legendary though short-lived Blueprint magazine folded, I mourned the loss of another favorite. Not only was Blueprint, a Martha Stewart title, the one magazine I felt that was really made for me, by people like me, but it recognized the three-dimensional female life.
Specifically, Blueprint knew that modern girls are gadget girls — in its inaugural issue, it won me over with this: DIY instructions for a charging station.

Even with my vast knowledge of fonts, there are just too many (and so many more created each day) to know what each and every one is. Sometimes you're either curious about what a font you see is, or you want to actually use it.
The website My Font is your new aid; they have a webapp called What the Font, which allows you to upload a JPG or enter a URL with the font, and it will try its hardest to identify it.

Martha Stewart has some directions for how to make a monitor cozy from an old issue of Blueprint, which reminded me of the monitor cozies I created for my boyfriend's two monitors last year. Lest you get discouraged by how nice and fancy Martha's version is, just check out the ones I made on my own, with just a bit of quick measuring and side-seam sewing. I also added a lining as well as a decorative fabric, since, like Martha says, it adds a little bit of color to the room.

In honor of the first anniversary of the Google New York office, staffers celebrated by creating a cake to look exactly like their entire office building—which just so happens to span a full city block! With the help of Google Earth and Google street view, pastry chef Danita Holt was able to draw up blueprints to begin the process of building such a ginormous cake. After four days, cafe director Kevin McConvey alongside two sous chefs, two pastry chefs, an executive chef and a line cook were able to finish the five feet long, three feet high and two feet wide Googleplex cake which contained 630 eggs, 105 pounds of sugar and 20 pounds of butter!
