Reese Witherspoon Updates Her BlackBerry and Phone Case

Whether it be Winter or Summer, Reese Witherspoon manages to keep her gadgets bubbly and bright all year long! Just six months ago, the blond beauty was spotted with a BlackBerry Curve smartphone adorned in a lime green gel case. Not long after, she upgraded her Curve with the Bold, which was rockin' a hot pink BB case.

And just recently, while out during a shopping excursion, Reese looked pretty adorable trying to free up her hands with her BlackBerry's earpiece - guess that means we can add her to the hands free cell phone list?!

Celebs Love BlackBerry Gel Cases!

Even if I am constantly seeing celebrities who carry their laptops without a bag, I do love the trend of celebs and their BlackBerry gels! Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel had the same orange gel, while Britney rocked a light blue gel, and now we have edgy-fabulous Rihanna showing off a pretty-in-pink gel!

Since she matched the gel to her outfit that day, I wonder if she has many more that she rotates in and out to match her ensemble. I am building up my own mini-arsenal of colorful gels, and I may have to hit up a pink one just like Rihanna's that I found on Amazon, for under 10 bucks!

Just like a majority of celebs, I love using gel cases to keep my BlackBerry nice and protected. Although I do have one complaint - they have a tendency to rip and tear after prolonged use. NYC Prep Kids Love Clothes, Money . . . and BlackBerrys

Ever wondered what cell phones the Gossip Girl characters would carry if Verizon didn't sponsor the show? Me too.

We get to see what the real-life kids would carry through the voyeuristic lens of Bravo's new GG-inspired reality show NYC Prep. Although the dialogue doesn't crackle as much (these are real teenagers, after all), one thing the fictional show got right is the cell-phone addiction. To be specific? You only need one word to typify their cell-phone obsession: BlackBerry, BlackBerry, BlackBerry.

There was not one cell phone that got screen time last night that was not a BB; it was even noted by one of the girls: "I love how we all have BlackBerrys. It's like the typical New York thing."

Indeed, like Gossip Girl, their phones almost never leave their teen hands, and one teen girl even corrected her mother that she's not texting - she's BBMing.

What else is hot for NYC rich kids? Gel cases! White, red, grey, black, burgundy . . . though, no green, oddly.

Wii Fit Balance Board Silicone Sleeves: Love or Leave?

Apparently what a geek wants is to coat all her gadgets in gels. They're ubiquitous among BlackBerrys and iPhones, and I've seen them for Mighty Mice (mouses?), and now: Silicone Sleeves for the Wii Fit Balance Board ($20).

I have a love/hate relationship with gel cases; while they're great at protecting your gear (especially in the case of a fall), the light ones tend to get discolored and murky looking, and they are lint-magnets (ever leave your gel-covered BlackBerry in your handbag with a floating tissue? Oy vey). I also haven't noticed that my balance board needs protecting, but the silicone might make a more comfortable surface underfoot. What do you think?

ezSkins: Lust Worthy iPhone Protectors

I fell for the ezSkin iPhone protector from ezGear because it reminded me of the orange gel case Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel use on their BlackBerrys. Now that I've ventured into the world of gel cases with the ezSkin I fully understand why the two stars have put their jealousy of having both dated Justin Timberlake aside and don't mind using the same cell case. Unlike hard leather cases, gel cases slide on your phone with ease and offer bright, colorful protection for your phone's body. The case doesn't hide your device, but it keeps it safe.

The ezSkin, $30, comes in frost white, cool blue (seen here), princess pink and onyx black. Apparently, the film used to make the case has its origins in the US military, where it was used to protect the leading edges of helicopter blades from wear and tear while traveling hundreds of miles per hour. Sounds like the kind of film you want on your phone, right?

Just as I use Summer as an excuse to add some fashionable new pieces to my wardrobe, I also use this season as an excuse to either upgrade my phone or spice it up with a hot new case!

I'm currently sans a protective case for my beloved BlackBerry, but I've recently been eying the gel skins adored by many - including celebs! Regardless of whether or not you're a T-Mobile subscriber, the carrier has a fabulous collection of bright, chic cases for cell phones, like this raspberry red case for BlackBerrys . . . and they're only $10 each!

Monster Nintendo DS Case: Love It or Leave It?

I feel a little freer to be a goofball when it comes to cases for my Nintendo DS, since the device, as opposed to a cell phone or a BlackBerry, is not really a professional device. I don't have to be as reserved with it, whereas with my BlackBerry, the most outrageous I go is a brightly-colored gel case.

Which is why I'm nothing but charmed by this Monster DS Case! Available on Etsy for $20, the monster "eats" your device. I'd love to pulls this out on the bus, and I would definitely always say "NOM NOM NOM" when I see it, just like the seller describes it!
