Website of the Day: Who's Dated Who?

As a PopSugar and all-around pop culture addict, I'm usually the one my friends come to and ask what the latest celebrity gossip is. My favorite topic of discussion? Love lives. Yeah yeah yeah, it's none of my business, but it is so much fun. The website Who's Dated Who is devoted to exactly that - which celebrities have hooked up - and oh, what an excellent tangled web they weave.

When you're bored, you can click on Courtney Cox's face, and say to yourself, Richie Sambora, Kevin Costner, what?! Or, use Who's Dated Who as a resource in a lively game of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. And as Denise Richards can attest, it appears to be pretty accurate!

The only thing I don't like about this website? It's "Who's Dated Whom."

Is a Camera Finally Coming to the iPod Touch?

I know, I know, you've heard this one before, but now The Examiner is quoting an inside source at Apple who says a camera will be coming to the iPod touch this Spring. Rumors and theories have been circulating ever since the Nano was released with a video camera, and the iPod Touch was not. In September, Steve Jobs explained the reasoning behind the missing camera, that the iPod Touch is meant to be primarily a gaming device, and Apple's goal was to keep the price down as much as they could.

The article, later quoted in the New York Times says:

"We have heard from an inside source who claims the camera version of the iPod Touch 3G will be released this Spring. The source confirms to us that the iPod Touch 3G with camera had actually been planned for release this past September, but had problems passing quality control."

According to the source, the iPod Touch camera will be the same as the current Nano camera, which takes video but not still photos. There's no word on a possible release date, though I'm curious if Apple would release another iPod Touch upgrade so soon after the latest version's September debut.

The Contest will be conducted under the supervision of the Sponsor. The decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. The winners will be notified by email and/or by private message through the winner’s PopSugar community account; Sponsor reserves the right to determine the method of notification. Winners must claim their prize within three (3) business days after the date of notification of such prize. A Contest winner's failure to respond to the prize notification within the specified three (3) business days will be considered such Contest winner's forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected from the pool of eligible entries. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, an alternate winner may also be selected from the pool of eligible entries. Tech Dating 101: Do You Save Messages From Your Date?

One of the benefits of of digital technology is that every email, text, and voicemail is easily saved, stored, and relived. It's helpful when you're dating someone - I think it's both fun and cute to reread old messages. (Though I suppose this can get dicey when trying to cut your ex out of your digital life, but that's a topic for another day). When it's good - it's great!

I hadn't thought too much about it until a recently engaged friend unearthed a years-long log of emails and text messages, starting with the first email her now-fiance sent the morning after they met. My other friends and I teased her at first, but then realized that reading through her saved emails was almost like reading a book of the history of their relationship. Plus, it's fun to look back one month, six months, or even a year into the past to see what was going on, even if they're mundane messages about what movie to catch or what to make for dinner that night.

Besides its historical significance, saving messages from someone you're dating is also helpful when you're starting a new relationship. Who hasn't sat with their girlfriends and gadgets and analyzed a string of text messages from a new guy or potential date? (See also my advice on decoding postdate texts and instant messages).

I've started doing it, and I must admit, looking back on emails or text messages from a few months before is both nostalgic and sweet.

Do You Keep Old Profiles Online?

Nothing to hide here: from time to time I like to Google myself, just to see what comes up. After all, you never know who's going to search for you from a potential boss to a potential date. Even Kristen Stewart admits to self-Googling, as do a few other celebs.

This time, though, I came across one of my outdated social networking profiles that I'd last looked at in 2005. Until now, I'd completely forgotten about it, but there it was, online for everyone to see! I quickly deleted the, um, evidence and then did a quick search to find any remaining profiles I may have forgotten about.

If you decide to stop using a site, do you actively delete your profile? Or do you just stop using it and hope it sort of disappears into the abyss?

Kristen Stewart Is an Avid Self-Googler

Unlike John Mayer who denies Googling himself, most of you have admitted to taking to the popular search engine site to see what the web has to say about you.

In November's issue of Allure magazine, New Moon star Kristen Stewart talks about her Googling habits. Like when she gets lost in her car and the paparazzi follow her every move, she says:

"After I come back from this interview, I'll look up and see what an idiot I looked like getting lost. You can just Google 'Kristen Stewart, lost, directions.' Or put the date in. I can't believe I'm giving away how to Google me."

It's OK Kristen, I'm sure there are many people who would like to perfect their Kristen Stewart Googling skills!

Tag Yourself and Your Friends in Flickr Photos

First Facebook, now Flickr. The online photo site has just released a new feature: People in Photos. According to the site's blog, the feature allows you to tag other Flickr members in your photos by entering a member name or email address and adding the tag, similar to their current "notes" feature.

I'm generally not a huge fan of photo tagging - mostly because there's always the potential of being tagged in an unflattering photo (and there's always the pesky gray line of whether or not to tag a date). Luckily, Flickr feels my pain: you can choose which members are allowed to add you in photos, and who is allowed to tag people in photos you've shared. Plus, if you remove a tag of yourself from a photo, only you can re-tag the photo with your name.

The Flickr FAQ page contains more details and specifics. I'm already getting tag updates from friends in my Flickr feed - it's a great way to discover new photos of people you know.

Tech Dating 101: I Like Him, I Hate His Video-Game Obsession

In our Tech Dating 101 series, we've already tackled issues surrounding the nude photos you found on his laptop, his female-dominated address book, and his annoying CrackBerry addiction. But what's a girl to do when he just can't get enough of his video games? OK, I know I'm probably not the best person to answer this, but I can give you a few pointers on how to deal.

There are a few variables to take into consideration here. Find out what they are when you read more.

Variables like how long you've been together, if he still makes you feel loved and appreciated, or if he just wants you to join him in a quick round of Mario Kart on a Saturday night. But if he's blowing you off to stay at home and play World of Warcraft 24/7, or is actually losing sleep or missing work because of his gaming habits, then he may be a video-game addict who needs some professional help. Overall, if he's just a casual gamer, you may just have to give in and befriend the Xbox controller after all.

Website of the Day: My Very Worst Date

Who doesn't love reading dating war stories from the trenches? I'm still cracking up over My Very Worst Date, a collection of reader-submitted dating horror stories. From horribly awkward moments to convicted felons, reading through all of the stories will either make you laugh with relief or cringe with empathy. And unlike many similar sites, My Very Worst Date has a number of submissions from both sexes, not just women.

Since it was late, the officer later drove me around to find a hotel and I took the train home the next day. On Monday my ex-date/co-worker wisely avoided me. I didn’t bother to inquire as to the nature of his arrest.

Jessica Simpson Might Jump Into the Online Dating Pool

It hasn't really been Jessica Simpson's year. We all felt for her after her surprise breakup with Tony Romo, then her dog Daisy was snatched up by a coyote! Despite the drama, Jessica is hopeful that she'll find love again, and this time may even let her fingers do the talking online.

While at a QVC red carpet event last night, Jessica said that she isn't afraid of looking for love through the Internet, and may consider the method in the future. Although most of you aren't really keen on the idea of online dating, there's a large number of people who are finding long-lasting relationships through popular Internet sites.
