It looks like Weezer is more than happy to be a part of iPhone app history; not only did they come out with a Christmas version of Tap Tap Revenge, the band plays the game, too!
This photo was snapped of the guys taking a break from playing in a Los Angeles studio last Friday. I've loved the band a long time (the original arbiters of geek chic, you know), and now that I see that they practice what they preach, I have re-fallen for them.

OK, geek confession: I've spent way too much time watching the new Weezer video for "Pork and Beans" and trying to catch all the allusions to viral videos. I'm familiar with most of them, but some I had never seen and had to look up, and some were old favorites — in fact, I think alienated few friends this weekend with bar after bar of "Peanut Butter Jell-ay, Peanut Butter Jell-ay".
Thankfully, video kid Nick McGlynn edited together all of the viral clips that Weezer alludes to, so you don't have to look them all up on YouTube yourself.

With the new Weezer album cover getting some flack for being a little weird, I have to say that when it comes to their tunes, I'm still a fan. "Pork and Beans" is not only the standout track from their new record, it's also the one song that holds true to their signature sound. And since their album is hitting shelves on June 3, it's only fitting that these guys release a new (and ubergeeky) video.

If Weezer's Pork and Beans Internet meme-athon video was not enough for you, then Dan Meth's Internet People just about gets every single Internet phenomena into his animated music video, with a super appropriate title.
I might even like this a little more than P&B, for its sheer vastness of variety.
Forewarning: you will NOT, I repeat NOT, be able to get that song out of your head for hours.

Aw, yeah. Right when I think I have seen every novelty USB drive (and really started to get tired of them, to tell you the truth), I see this: the Four Eyes USB Flash Drive ($36) from Fred Flare.
Made to look like the black plastic glasses that launched a geek-is-chic craze in accessories (which I'll always associate with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo), the drive holds 2GB and is still thin enough to tote around with you — Fred Flare even recommends using it as a bookmark.

I love that bands are starting to get on the iPhone App bandwagon, like Weezer's Tap Tap Revenge App that they made for Christmas.
Now beloved indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie have created their own app. Totally free, it's a guide to all the info about the band, including the latest news, show schedule, and photos.

I love thrift store shopping and spring cleaning, oh! And the Internet, so I am more than stoked to have found out about Rehash. Rehash is a recycling website for clothes and accessories, which, like BookMooch, is based on the free trade of used clothes — I put up my 1997 Weezer tour T-shirt, I get your old, worn-in Levis.
