I love it when someone takes a boring household item that we all need — like a power strip — and turns it into something fun. Case in point: the Electric Man power strip from Urban Outfitters. This cute robot-shaped power strip has four grounded outlets — one on each of the little guy's appendages.

I have to admit, Urban Outfitters is doing a great job featuring fun, geeky gadgets! The latest are two awesome Lego-themed products: the Lego Stereo CD Boombox ($58) and the Lego Stereo Alarm Clock ($38).
The alarm clock features radio or buzzer alarm, AM/FM radio, and volume and tuning wheels on top.

Urban Outfitters has been putting out some pretty cool retro-meets-modern gadgets lately, from a USB-powered turntable to calculator watches. The latest affordable addition: the Mini Boom Box Speaker. At only $16, the price is definitely right — and while these build-them-yourself speakers probably aren't sturdy enough for the long haul, they're a cute and compact option for portable speakers.

Vinyl is making a comeback! Many artists are now releasing albums on vinyl as well as digitally.
There's something about the sound of a vinyl record that makes any song — even a new release — sound totally old-school.

If you've never experimented with a fisheye lens before, basically it's that distorted circular image you would see, say if you looked out of a peephole in a hotel and someone on the other side was peering in. DSLRs can do some fancy things, but do they have a 170-degree view that makes everything look artistically altered?
I've showcased many fun fisheye cameras on GeekSugar before, but now that NY artist Mike Perry has designed one exclusively for Urban Outfitters in hot pink, neon green, and yellow, I just had to share it with you.

I'm the kind of girl that can appreciate the early days of technology and rock a vinyl record player next to a high-quality sound system. Urban Outfitters isn't the first place you'd think to get your tech fix, but it has been raising the bar when it comes to offering up retro gadgets like record players and old-school typewriters. Two of my favorites, natch.

Have you been following the Impossible Project as closely as I have? The project, which consists of former Polaroid employees, is attempting to invent new instant film in the vein of the beloved camera.
Their latest coup is an amazing one: the Impossible Project acquired the last of Polaroid's instant film and camera kits and is going to sell them via Urban Outfitters, starting today.

I know there is an "art" to being a DJ and all, but how many times have you walked into a club and watched the DJ actually scratch on some vinyl? Most of the time, they pick and choose songs from their MacBook playlists, hit a few buttons, and move the cross-faders from side to side. Am I right?

I really do love the vintage alphabet blocks I found last year, which would go perfectly in a little geek-in-training nursery. But since I'm not planning to add to my family anytime soon, I wanted to find a more grown-up, flashier alternative for my apartment. So when I stumbled upon these letters, I realized the missing component was — lights!

I thought I'd seen all the creative and clever possibilities in iPod cases, but it seems my prayers for something different have been answered. I know some of us worship at the altar of Apple, but this may be taking things too far.
The Hymn Book iPod Cover from Urban Outfitters can hide your secret media-player obsession while everyone on the street just thinks you're practicing your hymns.
