Brits Get Free Apple Goodies For 12 Days

The good news? United Kingdom residents will have access to one free Apple download every day from Dec. 26 until Jan 6. - yes, a little 12 Days of Christmas giving from Apple to its customers.

The bad news? Apple is only honoring this promo in the UK (as of right now), so North Americans won't be able to get in on the Apple action - talk about coal in our stockings! For the chosen ones, you'll find the free downloads - ranging from videos, music, and TV episodes - in the iTunes store. Ho ho ho!

It seems we're entering a bit of a Lego renaissance with everything from houses to MP3 players being built out of the little bricks - but let's not forget about our Lego people! These little guys may live in your Lego towns, but they get into some sticky situations and seasonal shenanigans in the UK's 2010 charity calendar. Available to purchase online, the calendar benefits the UK's National Autistic Society, which makes me feel good for indulging in one of my favorite geek items ever, and makes a great gift for a fellow Lego lover as well. The Slide Lamp Is Geeky Wall Candy

Being the photography nerd that I am, I instantly fell in love with this unique lamp. It's not just any ordinary lamp, it's a light table for photo slides! How cool (and totally geeky) is that?! From Suck UK, this Slide Lamp holds up to 36 slides that you can take yourself (just by loading slide film into your camera instead of a roll), or have your already photoshopped and prepped photos converted into slides from your local developer.

Coming in three sizes, this functional piece of art will cost you around $140 dollars for the smallest size, and over $200 for the largest, but it's a total conversation starter that's essential for the entertaining geek's home. Wall mountable and totally sleek, these babies look hot next to each other, but realistically I think I'd have to splurge on just one. Cause really, you know I'd be buying the Slide Lamp to show off my photography talents, and not just for lighting purposes. What? Admit it - you would too!

Spruce Up Your Nerd Den With the Illuminating Coffee Table

I am totally falling in love with Suck UK's geeky-chic goods. Not only can they supply me with an old-school Mixed Tape USB Set that I can slip in my BF's bag to show him some love, but they can make me the queen of my castle with this totally hot Union Jack illuminated coffee table. I am seriously jonesing this thing.

But don't think it won't cost you a pretty penny - this baby comes in at around $4,000 bucks. And if flags aren't your thing, you can order your table minus the Union Jack top. I don't know what is geekier: an independently controlled coffee table with a built-in power connection, or me, who gets all excited over the idea of having lights underneath my furniture and on my clothes. It's probably the latter.

Website of the Day: Learn Something New Every Day

I've already confessed my love for mood-boosting sites and sites that deliver daily doses of awesomeness, so it's natural that I'm loving this site from the UK, Learn Something Every Day.

Each day features a new fun fact illustrated on a bright background. For example: "The film Titanic cost more than the Titanic itself," and, "Penguins are able to jump two meters high."

You can submit your own fun facts to the site, too. They doesn't make a claim to validate each fact selected, though most seem believable - I just love the site's simple design, bright colors, and entertainment value. Plus, who doesn't like amassing random fun facts to impress your friends?

Rihanna to Stream Album Release Party Online Nov. 16

A Sneak Peek of Mulberry's Accessory Collection For Apple

Yesterday at the Mulberry Store in London, England, stars came out to set sight on the British fashion brand's latest accessory line, which consists of laptop bags, sleeves, mini messengers, and iPhone/iPod Touch cases. FabSugar UK admits that this is a good partnership between the two companies and I'd have to agree with her. This nine-piece collection will feature bags with Mulberry's signature icons like the Bayswater for women and the Brynmore for men.

The items are available now from selected Mulberry stores, or you can wait until Dec. 1 when they'll be available online from the Apple store.

This Old House: UK Toy Master Builds House From Legos

You're all geeks, so I can confidently wager that you've spent a fair amount of time building miniature cities with Legos at some point in your lives. I know I did. Not only cities, but spaceships and boats, and forts, and . . . well, you get the picture. But James May, a toy fanatic from the UK (who has his own TV show), built a real house from Legos.

This two-story Lego palace, which resides in the middle of a vineyard, sports a working bathroom, and is covered inside and out with bricks pieced together by 272 Legos. Over three million bricks were used to build the Lego pad, so doing some quick math here - that's over 816 million Lego pieces! Sheesh. I wonder what they'll do with the Legos once James moves out?

USB Mixed Tape Set Has Me Longing For My Dual Deck Stereo

You remember the time before playlists, don't you? Those were the days where dual decks and mixed tapes ruled the world. Making a mixed tape was a big deal and not to be taken lightly. Just look at Rob Gordon in High Fidelity - making the perfect mixed tape is a laborious process that takes blood, sweat, and tears! Tears!

But since we no longer are slaves to the cassette, it seems the magic has faded with it. Handing someone a wimpy jewel case or a link to your online playlist just isn't the same. Someone else thought so, too, and is bringing back the fond memories with the Suck UK Mixed Tape USB set. It takes the best of both worlds: digital music, which is uploaded to the USB stick, and the tactile warmth of a tape case you can write on - old-school style with hearts and everything. Totally vintage geek and totally cool.
