Well, it had to happen. First we got basic social networks like MySpace and Facebook, then LinkedIn for work, Twitter and Pownce for micro-blogging and mini-updates, and well, at least chronologically, it makes sense: A social network for the dead. Citing the online grieving that occurs on MySpace after someone dies, Monster.com founder Jeff Taylor is launching Tributes.com this June, so that people have a central place for online memorials.

2007 is the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars Saga, which means you better gear up for a year of tributes and shout-outs to the geeky phenomenon. My homage to the series? This fantastic silent movie:
On Wednesday, May 25, 1977, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope premiered to the public – and went on to become the top-grossing movie of all time.

In honor of Father's Day, I wanted to share a touching tribute from a son to his father. Fellow geek Peter Rojas, cofounder and editor-in-chief of Engadget, lost his father Federico Rojas suddenly before Father's Day last year.
His heartwarming story describes memorable moments when he was growing up, like when his dad would bring home the latest electronics, including an Atari 2600 when Peter was home sick from school after having his tonsils removed.

I'm all about rocking the big headphones, and although this set isn't exactly my cup of tea, they are commendable nonetheless. These spooky graveyard headphones took one of the top spots at a Nokia design competition in London last week, and will be made and sold at select stores.
Topped with tombstones, grass, zombies and monster heads, the design team of ATOM Creative Solutions based the design on Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

Even in the kitchen, I tend to relate actual apples to you know, the Apple. I can't resist it (and neither could Gossip Girl, apparently).
So is this Pixelated Cutting Board from Chiasso, $28, a clever play on the company Apple, considering its namesake fruit is digitally rendered on the board?

It has already been five days since the sad news about Michael Jackson broke, and although many of us are still in disbelief, millions are remembering the king of pop through his music.
Since Friday, many of Michael's songs have been in the top songs list on iTunes, with "The Essential Michael Jackson" album claiming the number one album spot.
If you want to listen to Michael's music, but don't want to pay any money to do so, there are many sites that stream his music for free.
