The BlackBerry Bold 9700 Lands in T-Mobile Stores Today

Since a good majority of you have been checking out the BlackBerry Bold 9700, you'll be happy to know that it is now available from T-Mobile. This tiny but mighty phone packs WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth functionality and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

You can either get it for $200 on the Even More plan (a 2-year plan), or $449 on an Even More Plus Plan (no contract).

T-Mobile Announces Some Pretty Impressive New Plans

For the 16 percent of you who are on the T-Mobile phone network, have I got some exciting news for you! And this news is equally amazing for those who have a contract ending soon with another carrier, or those who are still seeking the perfect cell phone plan. T-Mobile has just announced some new phone plans called the Even More and Even More Plus plans.

With the two-year commitment Even More plan, customers get a subsidized phone, and you can add unlimited services which start at $59 a month, and $99 for unlimited message and text. And with the Even More Plus plan, you don't get a discounted handset, but you aren't locked into a contract (yes you read that correctly), you can get unlimited voice for $49 a month, or $7 a month for everything (texting, data and voice). Oh, and if you aren't a big web browsing phone junkie, you can get unlimited texting and talking on either plan for $49 a month.

Do You Store Your Contacts' Data Anywhere Else?

Last weekend's server crash resulting in T-Mobile Sidekick users losing all of their data left a lot of Sidekick users understandably angry. At first, T-Mobile considered recovering the lost data unlikely, but now it seems that most of the data has been recovered and will be restored to Sidekick users shortly.

Part of the problem: Microsoft offers no digital backup for the Sidekick. My iPhone's address book is backed up on my computer, but (similar to my Moleskine addiction) I also keep a paper address book for important phone numbers - just in case. What about you? Do you have your contacts' information stored somewhere so you won't lose it?

T-Mobile Sidekick Owners May Not Get Their Data Back

Over the weekend, T-Mobile experienced a server failure from its data server provider Danger, which is a subsidiary of Microsoft (umm, I'm already suspicious of a company that has a server named Danger!). Servers go down all the time, but T-Mobile has announced that it is unable to recover personal data stored on Sidekicks.

T-Mobile is urging Sidekick customers to keep their devices turned on, keep it connected to a power source, and to not reset it or remove the battery. Unlike BlackBerry owners that can backup their data using RIM's desktop manager or with iTunes for the iPhone, Microsoft didn't have a backup program or export tool for the Sidekick, which means many Sidekick owners are furious with T-Mobile right now.

The T-Mobile Tap: An Affordable, Cute New Smartphone

Get ready to jump up and down, because T-Mobile is planning on releasing a handset called the Tap this holiday season, and it looks just like another popular smartphone we're all familiar with - the HTC Touch.

Forget the fact that this ridiculously adorable phone (available in midnight blue or berry) includes a two-megapixel camera, a web browser, a touchscreen display, a media player, and GPS functionality; it is also said to be very affordable. Now I don't know how cheap, since T-Mobile hasn't released any numbers yet, but I'm assuming $100 or less. This may just be the hottest handset this holiday season!

Which Cell Carrier Do You Use?

Obviously, I use AT&T to power my iPhone. I'm not saying that it's the best network out there (hello, dropped calls!), but it's the one I prefer to stay at in order to enjoy the Apple smartphone. What network would I prefer to be on? Probably Verizon - they really do have the best coverage and largest network on the market.

I recently read a story on Wired that reiterated this fact, and also pointed out that they may be the best network around, but they are at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to top-of-the-line mobile devices. T-Mobile is quickly moving up the ranks with their selection of Android phones, and Sprint is still in the game with the Palm Pre. This made me wonder - which cell carrier do you use?

Not Using Paperless Billing? T-Mobile Will Charge You $1.50

I've already told you how I've tried to move all of my bill-paying online because it's not only easier, but the greener option as well. How would you feel if a company started charging you for not paying a bill online?

On Sept. 12, T-Mobile will start charging a $1.50 mandatory fee to customers who still use paper billing. I'm all about doing what's best for the environment, but this imposed $1.50 charge for each account per month is a dirty way to go about it.

Just think of all of the people who don't have access to computers - or who don't know how to use a computer or the Internet, for that matter - and are stuck with this fee unless they opt into paperless billing through their T-Mobile accounts. In my opinion, they should reward those who pay their bills online with something like more monthly minutes, not tack on a fee for those who are helpless and don't have a say.
