Do you ever head on over to the iTunes store to peruse the iPhone apps and you get lost and overwhelmed in the sea of apps? Unless I know exactly what I'm looking for and can enter it in the search box, browsing the app store is usually a headache just waiting to happen.

Good news. There's a site called Stored Apps that better organizes the thousands of apps from the iTunes Store by offering a searchable and filterable database. Search by things like price, categories, most popular, and more. The site even offers direct links to every app's iTunes Store page. Badabingbadaboom.

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.
Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.
Choose "Blog" and “Regular Post.”
Give your story a “Title.”
Fill in the “Body” with a link to your favorite website and the reasons why you love it.
Click “Next."
Choose the audience for your story to “Website of the Day” in the drop-down menu
Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day").
Change channel to “Technology and Gadgets.”
Fill in tag field with relevant tags.
Click “I’m done” to submit content.

So join the Website of the Day group and share information about all your favorite sites! Yours just might end up on the geeksugar homepage!

Access Store Coupons on Your iPhone With the Yowza App

With the holidays right around the corner, I'm not only starting to think about shopping, but I'm also thinking of creative ways to save. Yesterday, I told you about ten websites that will help you save some money on gifts, and today it's all about Yowza!!, an iPhone and iPod Touch app that will show you all of the store coupons within a mile or as far as 15 miles from where you are shopping (which makes sense why it has two exclamations after its name!).

Once you download this free app, open it and you will see all of the coupons applicable to your location, or you can type in a store name to see what's available. And if an offer includes a bar code, just have the cashier scan the barcode, right from your phone. No coupon clipping, no paper, no hassles - I die!

Have You Ever Wanted to Return a Phone App?

An awesome detail about Android's App Market - which had recently announced paid apps in the store - has come to light: If you're not satisfied with an app you bought, you can return it within 24 hours of purchasing it.

Though simple, this customer service feature is fantastic; I would love to see a similar policy implemented for iTunes' App Store, since I tend to gravitate toward cheaper apps, particularly because I know that once I buy it, there's no going back.

I haven't wanted my money back for an app that I've paid for yet, because I tend to mull over the decision so carefully, reading every posted review, so I'm confident when I do pay. What about you? Ever regretted the purchase of a smartphone app?

What's the Most You've Paid For an App?

It's true that I sometimes complain about how expensive some iPhone apps can be. Although paying $15 for a language learning app doesn't seem unreasonable, there are tons of other translation apps out there that are much more wallet-friendly that catch my eye.

Recently, CNN wondered about the potential of the App Store to become the "Crap Store," with its high number of featured free and 99-cent apps (that may be lacking in quality), while more expensive and useful apps get less promotional love because of their price tag. I'm totally willing to pay a higher price for a good app, but I'll admit that I tend to search the free apps before anything else.

Tell me - what is the most you've paid for an app?

Would You Download an App From a Non-iTunes App Store?

If the App Store is your favorite part of the iPhone, then you're probably always looking for the best apps. However, even the gargantuan App Store in iTunes may not have everything you want - and to serve that desire, a few unauthorized, independent iPhone app stores are about to launch.

At least one of these stores would require you to have a jail-broken iPhone, but some will not require that and merely provide alternatives.

I'm skittish, so I'd probably stick to iTunes for my app downloads, but that's not to say I couldn't be tempted by a really outstanding app from an outside store. What do you think of these rogue apps? Would you download one from a third-party store?

Start Your Shopping Engines: ShopStyle Mobile App Launches

Tech-savvy fashionistas have known for a while that the destination to search for new clothes and home accessories is ShopStyle. Well now the incredible search functions and tools have gone mobile - say hello to the new (totally free) ShopStyle Mobile app!

You can hunt and browse from your iPhone on the go - making it your best comparison shopping tool.

Out trying on jeans and have a hunch they're cheaper at another store or online? One place out of a size in a shoe you like? Just look it up on ShopStyle.

I've checked out the app and put it to my shopping and iPhone app test, so to see what I found, just read more.

My favorite thing about the app is what happens post search. Tap to flip the image and see all the details of the item, including the retailer and price. Once you've found the product you're looking for, it's one easy click to email it to a friend or yourself.

From a tech perspective, the greatest thing is that once you've located an item and want to buy it from your iPhone - instead of shooting you off to Safari and removing you from the app - the app actually frames your browser, so you're still in the ShopStyle app.

A little birdie told me that a favorites feature is coming in the next update, and after that, you'll also be able to sync your favorites with your ShopStyle profile, so you won't have to email items to yourself to remember them.

What's Your Favorite Thing About the New iPhone?

Now that the iPhone 3G has been out for a few weeks, those of us who took the shot and bought the new phone have settled in with our new toy, and those of you who are still considering it may be basing you decision on what you've seen so far.

I've been impressed by the quicker speed of the 3G, and having GPS on my phone ain't too shabby either, but the best thing, hands down, is the App Store. It's obviously not limited to the 3G iPhone either - if you got the 2.0 update, you're good to go with new applications on a Touch or first-gen iPhone, but it's the main reason I'm so excited to pick up my new phone. The App Store has impressed so many, in fact, that the New York Times reports that other cell phone carriers are eager to develop more apps for their handsets, too, meaning that you won't always have to be an Apple user to get great time wasters like Scribble!

But tell me, is the App Store your favorite thing about the new iPhone, or are you most excited about the 3G, GPS, longer battery life, or colors?

Frommer's Travel Guides Come To the iTunes App Store

I absolutely love travel books - they provide you with useful tips, suggestions and maps for popular destination spots around the globe. But what I don't love is lugging these heavy books around while I'm trying to admire the Champs-Elysées or while trekking across the Sahara Desert.

That's why I was thrilled to learn that Frommer's is going digital by offering iPhone and iPod touch apps available for purchase from the App Store in iTunes for $9.99. So maybe they aren't free, which would be nice, but you'd spend the same amount on a book and this way you don't get stuck carrying a heavy book during your travels!

To get the app, just click on the travel category in the App Store and you'll find the 2008 editions of Frommer's London, New York, San Francisco and Paris.

Classics Like Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly Hit the App Store

I don't know what it is about being able to play old classic games on the iPhone. I always get this nostalgic feeling that is usually accompanied by a wave of fond memories. . . like when I play Simon, especially because I don't have to take turns with my sisters! Electronic Arts has brought two oldies but goodies to the iTunes App Store - Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly, both costing $5 each. Suffice to say, these "contemporary" versions have way more features and enhancements than the actual board game.
