Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes First Impressions

I got to meet up with my pals from Lucas during E3 yesterday, and they walked me through their Star Wars themed title. A classic battle between good and evil (is there any other kind?), you battle your way through levels wielding your Light Saber and powers of the Force. But this game isn't based on the classic Star Wars franchise - it takes off after season one of the hugely popular animated series on the Cartoon Network, Clone Wars.

Not only does the game look like a ton of fun for experienced gamers and newcomers alike (since the main action involves button mashing and aiming your joystick), but it keeps things fresh by adding in a few new features. To find out what they are, just

If you're familiar with the other Star Wars games (or even if you aren't), then you'll love the added features that come with Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes. You'll be able to jump on various enemies and take them over, using them against their own kind in a move called "Droid Jacking." Not only is this really fun, but you'll earn achievements as well. Another cool feature you'll find familiar is the "Drop in, Drop Out" co-op play we saw in Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones. Your friends can pick up a controller and jump in, then leave at any point they want. Cool for those fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants types.

And finally, to keep things interesting, Lucas Arts has added some fun mini games (like shoot-em up, which has you mowing down enemies for points) within the levels. The good news is you won't have to exit your current game, so it's not a hassle to participate. Due out in September, Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes will be released on the Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.

Clone Wars Love: My Interview with Ashley Eckstein

If you haven't seen Star Wars: Clone Wars yet, then you probably haven't been properly introduced to Ahsoka Tano, the newest butt-kicking female to be ushered into the Star Wars family and who just so happens to be Anikin Skywalker's new headstrong apprentice!

I saw the movie recently, and had the pleasure of talking with Ashley Eckstein who voices Ahsoka in the animated flick, about her role in the franchise, what it was like to play such an enthusiastic character, and whether or not she's a bonified geek. You may know Ashley from the hit TV series That's So Raven as Muffy, but now? She's all about the action, baby! 5 Movies We'd Like to Play On Kinect

Our long wait for the Kinect Star Wars game is finally over! Landing on store shelves today, non-Jedis can now use the Force to battle Darth Vader himself, fly through pod races, and dance the Clone War battles away in groovin' competitions.

After months of waiting, we're excited for the motion-based Star Wars game, but it has us wondering what other movies would make thrilling Kinect games. We're adding these movies to our Kinect dream list; what movie would you like to play a part of in Kinect?

Harry Potter - There's an amusement park in Florida and a studio tour in London, but for fans that can't travel to these destinations, casting spells and vanquishing Dementors the Kinect way would be just as wizardly.
The Hunger Games - A story with the premise of adolescents killing other adolescents as part of a nationwide reality TV show is disturbing, and any video game would be just as gruesome to imagine. However, just the talents exhibited by Katniss, like archery and hunting, could make for interesting interactive role-play.
Lord of the Rings - Enter Mordor? No problem in Kinect form! If you've read all the books and obsessively watched all the movies, a Kinect game of the hobbits' journey is the last step in a complete Middle Earth adventure.

Disney-fied Star Wars Action Figures Coming to Disney Parks

If a trip to a Disney park is included in your Spring break plans, in between Star Tours and It's a Small World, find time to track down the latest Star Wars action figures, exclusive to the amusement parks. Animated Disney characters get into cosplay gear to fill some powerful Star Wars shoes.

Donald Duck's nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, dress as Tatooine natives Jawas and are even pictured hard at work fixing a busted droid. Not available in stores or online, the figurines are only found at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Walmart - Starting this Sunday, you can trade in a used Nintendo DS model for up to a $100 credit toward the 3DS at authorized Walmart locations.
Target - Starting on Sunday, you can trade in any used Nintendo DS system for up to $50 in credit toward the purchase of a 3DS, or any other purchase in Target stores.
